The Devil's Threat

Agneta came to the office feeling lethargic; she had to go alone because Aiden had no news from last night. He had just landed his ass on the chair, and Sonya immediately popped her head from behind the cubicle.

"Your face is so gloomy. Are you sick or have a problem?" asked Sonya, while Agneta just took a deep breath. "Well, he took a really long breath; it felt really heavy like that."

"I don't know," answered Agneta casually.

It's clear that Aiden's mother disapproves of his relationship with Aiden, and that makes Agneta's feelings for Aiden shrink again. Her heart, which had begun to open and accept Aiden, was now slowly closing again.
