Chapter 4

Looking at the mirror for one last time Suhani got ready to leave. As she was about to step out, Rohini called her? Looking over her shoulder she asked her.

“Yes, my little devil, tell me.”

“Are you going to meet Jiju?” Rohini asked.

“Yes.”

Hearing the positive answer Rohini couldn’t stop herself from pinching her sister.

“Sometimes let me also meet Jiju to get some gifts. After all, I will be leaving soon.”

Winking at her sister Rohini ran away from there by shouting.

“Use the smudge-proof lipstick if you are planning to kiss him again.”

Two of Rohini’s statements were enough to make Suhani run after her with a pillow to beat the shit out of her. As they came down to the hall while running, Rohini, seeing her father, hid behind him.

“What happened? Will you both ever grow up?”

“Yes, dad, tell Mini to grow up. She was telling….. “ Suhani gulped down the rest of her syllables. She won’t be able to speak the exact statement of Rohini in front of her father.

“Yes... Yes... Di… tell papa,  what I was telling….. “ Rohini got the upper hand and couldn’t stop herself from laughing like a mad person.

Understanding their sisterly issues Sudhir decided to leave his daughters on their own and moved inside.

Both the sisters started mocking each other with their words and Suhani got up to put on her heels to leave. She loves her sister no matter what. Rohini hadn’t grown up till then.

Before leaving Suhani turned on her heels and spoke,

“Please stay till my marriage dear.”

She knew that her marriage date was fixed after 3 months but she badly wanted to spend her time with her sister.

“Hey, who would attend my classes then? You? Come on. I will be back soon.”

After exchanging a huge amount of hugs Suhani went out and sat inside the Audi to reach Rajveer’s house. Rohini still had one week left before returning to the USA.

As the car pulled in near Malhotra Mansion Suhani came out of the car to enter through the gate. She was welcomed by some servants and after meeting with Rajveer’s mother she went upstairs to reach Rajveer’s bedroom.

Before she could knock on the door, it opened immediately. A hand suddenly pulled her inside the room and closed the door behind. It was so sudden that she didn't realize when he pushed her tiny frame on the wall.

“Hey… “ Suhani’s words lost their path as soon as those dominating lips pressed on her soft ones. Her eyes got closed due to the impact. As the man was enjoying her lips with his tongue a soft moan left her mouth involuntarily? Her arms circled his neck. Small water droplets were coming down from his hair indicating his recent event of taking shower. The strong cologne from his body hit her nostrils to make her mouth ajar to give him an entrance. As he pushed his tongue more into her she was clutching more of his smooth hairs in her tiny grip. His thumb started caressing her cheeks and after biting her lower lip lightly once he broke the kiss making themselves pant for air.

“You taste like strawberry.” His voice made her blush.

“Veer, that’s my lipstick you've just eaten.” She couldn’t stop laughing while speaking.

Shaking his head to splash the leftover water of his hair on her face he moved away to the closet.

“Veer. This is not right.” Suhani pouted her face.

It’s a bad habit of Rajveer to splash water on his wet hair like that. Suhani looked with wide eyes at Rajveer’s bareback.

The moment Rajveer opened the door he was wearing his black jeans only. His wide back, broad shoulder, and perfect v shape were on display. Suhani couldn’t stop herself from blushing looking at her man.

“How do you know I was standing at your doorstep?” Suhani couldn’t stop herself from asking that.

“I heard your heartbeat.” Rajveer winked at her looking over his shoulder.

“So funny. Tell me.”

“Our mansion is fully covered under CCTV. So the moment you stepped inside I got to know.”

“Wow, great. What a lovely implementation of technology.” Suhani mocked him.

“Better than your sister. I heard she hacked her college website last time. What a lovely implementation of her programming course.” Rajveer couldn’t stop taunting her to annoy her repeating the same statement.

“Yes. You are the sole responsible person for her increasing courage. Every time I tell her not to create a mess she proudly says, di… Jiju would handle the matter legally. Now please go and help your lovely sister-in-law.”

As their conversation was going on Rajveer got ready with a white t-shirt. It was half sleeve and his biceps were popping out to make him look more appealing. Since Rohini got to know about Rajveer and his proficiency level, she always feels supreme.  According to her, as long as her Veer Jiju is present she can win any case filed against her.

Sometimes Suhani feels like being on cloud nine. She got a perfect family, a perfect boyfriend, and would-be husband, and her imperfectly perfect sister. Her sister, who plays basketball, hacks her college website and never bothers about breaking someone’s bone or nose. Everything seems so perfect to her. Today Rajveer decided to take her out for dinner. As he used to be busy with lots of cases he barely got time to spend with Suhani. But she never created a fuss about it. She never demanded a hell of a lot of time or something. Yes, she had eaten his head during her bar council exam preparation but apart from that, she is a perfect girl to be someone’s wife or girlfriend. Sweet, shy, virtuous, and kind. More precisely loyal and trustworthy.

Sending Suhani's car back, Rajveer decided to drop her home after dinner. He took his Mercedes-Benz and drove through the busy streets of Mumbai. As the chauffeur drove the car Rajveer sat at the backseat being relaxed with Suhani beside him.

As the car pierced through the black pitch road Suhani turned her face to look around the streets. Rajveer kept his hand on her tiny hand intertwining her fingers with his. Her face tilted to her right to look at him. The warmth in her eyes was everything that Rajveer craved at that moment. In front of a big fancy restaurant, the car pulled in. Coming out from his car he extended his hand for her Suhani to climb down.

As they moved inside they chose a table near the V.I.P area. Rajveer never liked crowded places. After settling down the waiter arrived to take orders. Looking at the dishes Rajveer ordered a bottle of red wine, golden prawn as starter, and squids.

“How do you know I love seafood so much?”

“You are forgetting something. I have seen you from quite a young age.”

“Old man……”

Suhani couldn’t stop herself from pulling his leg. Every time she said something like that Rajveer ended up tickling her or pulling her nose. As the drink had arrived they took the glass and decided to walk towards the open-air rooftop. Telling the waiter to serve the food later they stood under the open sky to look at those stars and the big moon. The ambiance was more than romantic. The scented candles around the area were beautifully decorated. The floral decoration around the rooftop arena made the place more appealing. Clinking their glasses they took the sip after raising the toast for their upcoming journey.

“Isn’t the moon jealous of you?” Rajveer tried a cheesy line.

“Why so?”

“Because it hides its face under the veil of clouds very often after seeing you.”

“So cliché.” Suhani poked Rajveer on his arm and rested her head on his side. Rajveer slid his arm around her waist bringing her close into his embrace. He softly spoke to her,

“I would not let any dark cloud come near you to hide your face.”

“I know Veer.” She knew if he had said something, he meant it.

As they were enjoying their quality time a few heavy steps were heard from behind.

Someone cleared his throat and asked,

“Mr. Malhotra. Hope we are not barging into your special moments.”

Hearing the unfamiliar voice Suhani turned her head but Rajveer seemed calm seeing those men.

“Ah... Mr. Banshali. Well yes, you are barging a bit.” Hearing Rajveer’s little mocking tone Suhani understood that they might be Rajveer’s client. Perks of having a famous criminal lawyer as a husband. Either paparazzi or clients, someone would surely spot them or especially him.

Before they could speak more, Rajveer introduced Suhani to them.

“Meet my fiancée Suhani Rane.”

“Hello.” Three of them greeted Suhani together and she smiled and nodded with the same “Hello.”

Mr. Banshali came with two of his sons over a meeting here and they suddenly spotted Rajveer here. As Suhani was about to move to keep the glass, suddenly she stumbled a little bit and due to that a little amount of wine splashed on her right hand. Luckily her dress didn’t get affected. Rajveer came hurriedly to manage but she assured her to continue his communication with Banshali and decided to head back to the washroom.

Rajveer continued his small talk and Suhani made her way to the washroom.

As she was busy cleaning her fingers with the tissue paper she didn’t notice what was coming in front. She ended up bumping into a wall. Once she looked back at the wall she froze at her place with an ajar mouth.

She saw the same brown eyes but this time a bit red. Whether it was due to her sudden collision or not she didn’t understand. She looked here and there and found no one. After all, it was the V.I.P. section. Rajveer was surely on the rooftop and it would take 2 minutes to reach there. Before she could create some sentences the man spoke.

“Looking for your sister to speak on your behalf?”

That was a clear slap on her face. Of course, her sister looks like her so the man remembered her sister's savage reply from the party. Seeing his face she understood he had no space for mercy for anyone. She had accidentally bumped into him. But how she would explain that she was not having any idea. Though she was never like her younger sister, at least she knew how to answer. Still, in this case, seeing the man, her basic features stopped working properly.

“I… haven’t noticed. I.. I.. am… sorry.”. That’s all she could speak at that time.

“You should be.” Saying that the man moved away from her and she huffed.

“Monster.”

That was the only word that left her mouth and she walked back to the washroom.

Cleaning herself she came back and saw Banshalis had already left.

“What took you so long?”

Rajveer's question put a dagger in her heart. She just moved her eyes away and lied,

“Nothing. Was lost in between.”

She never liked lying to Rajveer but what else could she tell at that time? She couldn’t even explain the situation through which she had just gone. He was a flag bearer of darkness. His presence brought shivers to her. His voice, his gaze depicted something forbidden to her. Her abrupt move around him caused her enough issues. Last time Rohini was there to give a tough fight to that man but not every time there would be someone to speak for her to save her. Especially after hearing his humiliation, she felt bad. He directly insulted her for her cowardly behavior. She decided to forget his words and concentrate more on the love of her life. The dinner was beyond expectations. As the night grew old their moments and conversation grew deeper. Finally, Rajveer dropped her at Rane Mansion and moved towards his house. Before leaving he placed a gentle kiss on her forehead and hugged her tightly.

As soon as she entered her room Rohini jumped in front of her, making her flinch.

“Mini, when would you stop being a monkey?”

“The day you would become one.” Rohini giggled like a child.

“Never.”

As Suhani moved towards the closet to find some comfy clothes to sleep Rohini came again and said,

“Well, it seems Jiju is a good kisser.”

Hearing Rohini’s word Suhani glared at her by saying,

“Again?”

“No, I am just saying.”

Rohini saw Rajveer hugging Suhani before leaving and kissing her forehead too. She giggled while describing those things. As Suhani came out of the washroom after getting freshen up both the sisters went to sleep. Rohini still behaves like a child. Every time she visited India she had always slept in the same bed with Suhani.

After hearing all the stories from Suhani, Rohini finally slept. Her little snoring made Suhani laugh a little. Sleep was far away from her eyes due to the excitement of her marriage. Every time she closed her eyes, the face of Rajveer flashed upon her eyes. But today something was different. The moment she closed her eyes those brown orbs flashed upon and she abruptly opened her eyes. How could that be possible that the unknown man’s impression started hovering over her?

"What's wrong with me?" Her mind screamed in agony.
