~Amolet
I’m not sure what I expected, but this isn’t it.
For a moment I’m so surprised, so taken aback I’m convinced Cian has taken me to the wrong place. We are on the edge of another mountain, however this one is capped with snow, and isn't surrounded by a wonderful view of distant villages dotted with sparkling lights. Instead, right below the rocky outcrop we stand on, is a massive ravine, gorged into the mountain leading all the way out to the horizon.
Grabbing a hold of Cian’s arm tightly, I push away from the edge of the cliff, wary of the slipping rocks that scatter down into the jagged bottom of the ravine. <
~AmoletMy head rests back against the couch, my eyes closed."I can't believe we agreed to that."Cian laughs, although it sounds tense. We reluctantly agreed to Hale’s terms, then left almost immediately. Involving another Immortal was the last thing I wanted, and Cian seems to share the same sentiment, which only worries me more. I still feel shaken after meeting Hale. He is definitely a strange man, one who I don’t want to spend much more time around, even if I’m going to have to.
~Amolet"What do immortal’s eat, anyway?"I glance around the corner and into the living room, where Cian sits, reading a book he plucked from my bookshelf. Seeing him with it reminds me of how him and I came to speak to each other. I brought him a book to read, even if it was a childish one. My plan with that was to bait him into speaking, which worked well in my favour. Now it’s been two full days with him in Lev and I’s apartment."Worry about yourselves before me,” he responds distractedly.
~AmoletThe bed shifts as I gently crawl out of it, trying not to wake Lev.Despite the information I revealed to Lev that is life changing for the both of us, he had no issue falling asleep. I, however, have spent far too long staring at the ceiling into the darkness, wondering what I’m going to do about my messed up life. Should I tell Cian, should I not tell Cian? Now I’ve decided laying in bed next to a peacefully sleeping Lev isn’t going to do me any good, and I’m more likely to lay thinking over actually getting any sleep.
~AmoletWe don’t have any other choice. I have to wrap my fingers around Cian’s arm, deciding I’m not about to touch Sinful, and allow him to take me to whatever dark, cruel whole the Sin Wrath lives. My apartment dissolves around, a flicker of darkness being all that I can see before my feet touch ground, and I’m officially back in the immortal realm...And not where I expected to be.We aren’t in a dark cave like I expected, but instead in a foreign looking forest, the trees that shroud the small dirt path we stand on like nothing I’ve seen before. They block most of the sunlight, but what does make it through the canopy dapples down over us, offering a small amount of warmth. Mingling amongst the trees, are a v
~AmoletShe knows we are mates. How, I don't know, but she knows.Cian’s gaze seizes me, but reveals nothing. Panic overwhelms me as I realise everyone in this room is genuinely expecting me to walk up and kiss him, despite the fact that he is my mate and this is the last situation I want to be in when I reveal to him that we are. I would hate to know what Ira would do with that information once it has been confirmed."Absolutely not,” I say firmly, backing up a wary step toward the door. Not that running out is of much use now. Now when I’m here, and none of them would even have to chase me to bring me back here.
~AmoletThe moment we land back in the mortal realm, I feel as though I can breathe again.Lev doesn’t stick around, disappearing into his room. I’ll have to talk to him about the kiss later, and apologise endlessly for bringing him into this mess. Sinful left Hale to sweet talk Ira some more, and intelligently returned back to the immortal realm. I want to kill him for bringing Lev into this, even though I knew it was his way of distracting Ira, giving her something to concentrate on that isn’t taunting us.Had he not been there, I may have had to kiss Cian, and to reveal that we are mates in front of Ira is exactl
~AmoletI roll over in bed, feeling the warmth of a sleeping Cian beside me.It's a miracle I convinced him to sleep earlier, since immortals don't need it, and after kissing every inch of my face and neck, he didn't seem so excited to settle beneath the covers for sleep. But I'm so overwhelmed, my body on the verge of complete collapse, that I knew if we went any further I doubt I would have been able to handle it.And now, something has roused me from my comfortable slumber, and it's not Cian's still body, sending a chill through me.The so
~AmoletSinful stands over Noah's dead body, grinning at it.Cian summoned Sinful and Hale over moments after Noah died. His body isn't even cold, still lying in the exact same position in the entrance to my apartment. I can't stop staring at him, at the dark hair fanning his face, even if it makes me nauseas, like I'm going to be sick if one of them says the wrong words."You killed him?" Sinful asks, looking at me. I grit my teeth, trying not to be annoyed at his smugness. Noah may have been a terrible person, but he is dead, which allows him some semblance of respect. Even if it's hard to justify.Cian nudges Noah with his foot. "I killed him. Amolet just started it."
