Chapter Forty

Clarissa was still huddled in the pack house, not aware that Cynthia was dead. Nacen raised his head and looked at Jake with murderous eyes. Jake was startled by the stare that he was confronted with. Nacen looked like he was about to kill someone. He didn't blame him, he couldn't stop him from going for his sister but he could try to make him see reason.

"Where is she?" He bit out still holding Cynthia in his hands even though she had already gone completely cold. His eyes were glinting with unshed tears.

"Where is she?" He asked again when Jake didn't answer.

"She...she is at the pack house" he muttered.

"Kevin, take her body. " he stood up still not aware that his upper clothes were destroyed which was revealing his bare chest. "I have someone to see."

Jake moved to stop him, Nacen glared at him.

"Out of my way" he snarled.

Jake stood still there. "I know how you feel Nacen, but she didn't mean for it to go this way."
