Chapter 22

“So let me get your story straight,” Max said. “You had sex with a girl not knowing she was a virgin and you feel guilty about it so you want to rid yourself of the guilt.”

That wasn’t how Ollie worded it but Max was still in line.

“That’s another way to put it.”

Max dropped his golf stick, sinking into the chair opposite him as he rubbed on the stumble on his jaw as if confused. “How did you not know she was a virgin? How did you not know you were having sex with a virgin? I’m surely slipping it in wasn’t easy?” Max bombarded him with questions.” Wait didn’t she tell you?”

Ollie was in over his head that night so he hadn’t noticed until June fainted.

Ollie shifted with uneasiness. Discussing this with his friend was weird but he needed to know what to do to right the wrong if it could be corrected.

The guilt had him in a chokehold. It rattled him.
