Twenty-three

It was going to take about an hour or so to get to the cottage, so Miranda had created a playlist for the journey there. She knew from Josh’s posters that he liked similar music to her. Not saying anything, she plugged her phone into the car stereo, and pressed play. The first song was ‘Black Dog’ by Led Zeppelin. As Robert Plant sang the first few words, Josh turned his head towards Miranda with interest.

“I’d forgotten that you like the same ‘noise’ as me.”

Miranda grinned and tapped her fingers in time to the music against the steering wheel.

“Don’t worry, there’s plenty more coming up on this playlist. It wasn’t classic rock I grew up on though. I got interested in pop punk when I saw Green Day on Top of the Pops.”
