“Get away from her.” I snarl. Resisting the urge to rip his throat out.
“Xavier. Happy birthday: I was just bringing El a drink. She looked a little lonely.”He says with an obvious smirk.
“I already told you I’m fine. Eric.” She says as I pull her towards me.
“If I ever see you near her again, I'll kill you. You know better than to approach another wolf's mate.”
“She’s your mate?” He asks with his disingenuous smile. I scowl, ready to rip him apart, but El grabs my hand.
“Yes.” She responds to him. “I’m his mate, so please respect that I'm not available. Whatever crush you had, let it end tonight.”
“I see. Well, I’ll respect it, but you may never know what fate may have in store. See you around, Elina.” He winks at us before walking off.
