14. DISRESPECT

For several days, Ansel was grounded at home with sickness because of the guilt eating him up, he was losing himself. He didn’t know it would backfire this much, he wouldn’t have done what he did. He was the center of whatever was happening to everybody because if he hadn’t raped her in the first place then she wouldn’t have a cause to run away, he wouldn’t lose his friend, the marriage would hold and everyone would be happy.

He sighted Kimble, her mother along the street few days ago and all her eyes were sunken due to excess tears. She was looking haggard and lost with no sense of direction at all. He had to help her back home with the load she was carrying because she looked lifeless, everything was not pleasing to her, it was then he realized the extent of his crime because it dawned on him that he had snatched life away from the poor woman.
