Chapter 49 - To punish or forgive
The rogues climbed the hill toward me. I held my ground and growled my disapproval at them. Higher ground was better in a fight, so I stayed and watched them. I remembered seeing them at the cabin; that memory filled me with anger.
They were taken surprised by my presence because they did not plan their attack. Neither did they attack together. I toyed with them for some time, circling. Then I struck at one of them swiftly. A quick series of swipes from deadly claws ripped the slowest one's head from his body. The other one had jumped on me, trying to aim for my neck. Lucian suddenly jumped on him in his wolf form. I sidestepped. Impromptu pack parties are the easiest to organize. All we need is good weather, preferably a full moon night. Some drinks and firewood. The prey is hunted and cooked right there.
