Three days, later

Luca's woke up, feeling disoriented and confused. He looked around, but something was different about the house. It was unnaturally quiet, and the stillness made him uneasy. He got up, put on his slippers and his robe, and headed for his daughter's room. But when he opened the door, he found nothing but an empty crib. She went to Sophia room to check if she was there, but there wasn't anyone there, either. Panic started to set in, and he called out Sophia and Ava name with increasing urgency. But no response came from the other rooms in the house, no family or worker in sight. As he walked through the empty hallways, he could feel his heart racing. What had happened? Where was everyone? He searched every inch of the house, every closet, and every room, but his daughter and Sophia were nowhere to be found. The silence was deafening, and it was almost too much to bear. Finally, as he went back to his daughter’s room, ready to dial 911, he noticed a note on
