Ch 2. Call me Selene

“The bastard even used my card to pay for his orders at the restaurant!” Selene mentioned casually as if it was someone else’s story and not hers.

Chloe couldn’t believe everything the young lady had just said. She thought her situation was peculiar, but this experience seemed quite similar to hers. She couldn’t help herself from asking, “So, what did you do about the card? You still left it for him after everything?”

The two had spoken about so much amid tears that they already felt like besties.

Selene smiled meaningfully, an evil smirk lacing her lips, “Tsk!” She then reached for her handbag and responded in jest, “I have my card just where it belongs. He should be paying the bills with his ego as we speak.” With their words coming out as incoherent slurs, the two girls laughed their hearts out once more.

“Barman…” Selene called out enthusiastially. At this moment, her head was only filled with thoughts of how to drown her sorrows in more alcohol. Using an indifferent tone, she ordered drunkenly, “Bring five more bottles of your strongest wine.”

Though shocked, the bartender quickly presented their order. However, it wasn’t the strongest in the house, as he didn’t have the heart to present the ladies with what they were asking for.

“You call this your strongest wine?” Selene asked in a displeased voice. However, the man maintained his stance and responded in the affirmative, “Yes, ma’am. That’s our strongest wine.”

Seeing the resolve on the young man’s face, she decided not to push it any further. At least, it was obvious that he was trying to look out for them. Another person may have taken advantage of them already.

“See, it’s our birthday, and we both got dumped by two jerks a while ago. Don’t you think we deserve some sympathy right now?” At a glance, she could tell that, what the young man presented was not strong at all.

Meanwhile, she needed something that could knock her out, though she fleetingly forgot how to make it home afterward.

“No, you don’t.” The bartender responded, and they both whizzed their heads and trailed their unfocussed gazes on him. They couldn’t believe the man felt that they didn’t deserve any sympathy. Before they could pounce on him, however, he continued in a deep voice,

“Any man who would dump you is an asshole, and doesn’t even deserve your emotions in the first place. Happy birthday, beauties. All your drinks are on me.”

Their heads spun with joy, as his words sank in. They could only smile sheepishly.

“Here. Keep it for your troubles, because, tonight, I’m gonna worry you a whole lot.” Selene presented the credit card that she had snatched from the waitress, stressing the final part of the statement.

When his hands brushed against hers, she wished she could feel a sudden jolt of electricity like people usually say, but nothing happened.

While the bartender stepped away from them, Chloe mouthed approvingly, “That’s so generous of you!”

Another drunken laughter later, Selene declared in conviction, “I’m losing my virginity tonight, Chloe. I’ve been the prim and proper daughter for far too long and I only ended up broken hearted. But for tonight, I want to get lost in some strong arms.” She declared with a dreamy look marring her petite face.

She then roamed her gaze through the crowd but couldn’t find any ‘strong arms’ around. “Selene, you don’t want to regret this night when you wake up tomorrow. Girl, don’t do this.”

Chloe was suddenly reminded of her experience with her boyfriend the previous night, and could only caution her new friend not to follow in her steps.

“Don’t worry, Chloe. I won’t even ask for his name.” Selene responded dismissively, with an expectant smile lacing her lips.

Chloe stared drunkenly at her friend, before calling out hesitantly, realizing that her mind was totally made up, “Selene…”

“Hello, Miss.

Please, you need to come home with us.

Your father was worried because you wouldn’t pick up his calls.”

Two bulky guards stood at both sides of Chloe and declared with finality. Selene could only squint in displeasure as the people were here to take her friend away. Maybe it was rather because her drinking partner wouldn’t be with her anymore.

“Oh…” Came her response, as she timidly got up to follow the men home. She knew she was dead for being found in this state. Her father was going to be extremely pissed with her.

“Let’s go, Selene, we’ll drop you off.” Chloe tried to reason with her, as she was totally wasted and shouldn’t be by herself. Even she had to be supported by the bodyguards.

“Naaah! Don’t worry about me. I already told you I got a cherry to pop tonight.” Selene responded carelessly.

Chloe’s face turned crimson, as she realize her friend had suddenly become so bold to speak that way in front of the guards. She sneaked a peak at them and realized they still maintained a straight face but obviously heard what she just said.

Chloe suddenly realized that a new waiter had taken over from the one who served them earlier, and she felt it was weird for him to just take Selene’s money and leave unannounced. Moreover, her friend’s resolve was so strong that, no amount of coercion could force her to leave with them.

“Good night, Selene. See you tomorrow.” Chloe reluctantly allowed the guards to drag her out of the place, her thoughts still filled with her friend’s safety. However, there was nothing she could do but pray that she would also get home unharmed.

“Mmmh! Okay.

Thank you for tipping me off. I owe you one.” A man was busily on the phone while an angry look marred his face. It was obvious someone had already pissed him off, but he never prepared for the next encounter,

“Oh… my… God! I’m… so… sorry.” Selene drawled, as she observed the red liquid slowly covering the man’s white shirt.

She quickly moved close to him and began rubbing the shirt with her hand, “Oh my, how did this get here? I’m so sorry, sir. Do you mind if you take this off? I could just wash it for you real quick  in the laundry.”

Declan just stood there like a statue. He watched the young lady trace her slender hands across his muscles in a clumsy attempt to clean the stained shirt.

“Take your hands off me.” He growled menacingly, but Selene wasn’t having it. She only tried to readjust herself on the sit just now, only for her to lose her balance and fall into the waiting arms of the stranger.

However, it was such a great feeling that she didn’t even wish to get up anymore. Her hands rested on his chest as if it was the most natural thing to do, and with all the courage from the alcohol, she began to trail them on the man’s abs that got exposed by the wet shirt.

Not satisfied, she moved to his tummy and commended him for his six packs. The temperature suddenly became unbearably hot, and she began to long for those strong arms all over her body.

When she had thoroughly undressed him with her gaze, she boldly raised her head and took in the magnificent sight before her. “You are beautiful!” She declared without any room for argument.

The man had a straight face that didn’t have a single blemish. His hair looked so smooth that she could only wonder how it would feel at her touch. His eyes were a blue bottomless pit that gave away absolutely nothing about him. His jaw was so chiseled that she could swear the creator took extra time in shaping them.

“Miss?” He called out when he realized she was only staring at him without moving.

“Oh my, even his voice is a work of art.” She concluded hungrily while imagining what it would feel like to hear him moan her name.

Clouded with her own desires, she didn’t notice how difficult it was for the man to control himself under her touch.

One thing she was certain of is that, her name would definitely sound better than Miss.

“Call me Selene.

And tonight, I’d love it if you could fu*k my brains off!”
