Ch 31: Post-pill

“Lock down the place. No one leaves the conference room.

Declan’s cold and menacing voice sounded through the receiver, and Bruno could only respond in the affirmative. He was seated in the back seat of the limited edition Bentley, Boris driving at full speed.

Meanwhile, he left a few instructions for Bruno to carry out in the Grand Lumen Hotel. If any of the artists had toyed with Selene in any way, Declan was going to deal with them ruthlessly. All he needed was the doctor’s diagnosis before he’d know how to handle the situation.

It was as if other road users and traffic signs were nowhere to be found. Boris needed not to be told to step on the gas, as the two had a tacit understanding by merely staring at the unconscious body of Selene, who lay limply in Declan’s embrace as if she already bid goodbye to the world.

“Please, Bunny, stay with me.
