It was Sunday. Sara Owen didn’t have to go to university. Natalie and Bruno had gone to attend a charity show. Gracie was not in the city. She had nowhere to go.

Sara Owen was standing near the window for a long time.

She frowned. The words were knocking in her brain like a hammer.

It was stressful. It was heartbreaking.

“Madam.” Nisha entered the master bedroom. Sara Owen looked at her with her parched gaze.

“What would you like to eat for lunch?”

“Cook anything.”

“I am going to buy vegetables.”

Sara Owen’s eyes lit up.

“Did you clean the swimming pool?”

“I forgot.” Nisha’s face flushed.

“Then go and clean it. I will go and buy vegetables.”

“Okay.”

Sara Owen didn’t ask Jack to drop her at the shopping market. She liked to walk. She just grabbed her purse and then walked to the market.

“Tomatoes and broccoli.”

The shopkeeper handed her a packet of her purchased vegetables. As soon as she stepped ahead
