Chapter 2: Preparing Lara

Lara stepped out of the bathroom after finishing her bath and walked into the room where Janet was already dressed in a skimpy pink gown. If Janet bent over, you could clearly see her behind.

Lara asked, "Are you going out tonight?"

Janet replied, "Yes, what else would I do, sleep?"

Janet laughed, but Lara frowned, walking over to the exquisite bed and sitting down, admiring the silk bedspread as she relaxed.

Janet said, "Your dress is on the bed. Madam asked me to lend you some of my clothes as you will be going out with me tonight."

Lara frowned, "Going out? I'm not going anywhere with you."

Ignoring Lara's response, Janet stood by the wall mirror in her room and started applying her makeup.

Janet said, "I don't have time to argue with you, Lara. And honestly, you complain a lot." *Frowned.*

Lara retorted, "You caused all of this. I'd rather be back in the village sipping garri than be here with you in the city doing nonsense."

Madam Alora knocked on Janet's room door and entered, noticing Lara seated on the bed while Janet was dressed in a short pink gown. She turned to Lara and asked, "Why are you still seated? Stand up and get dressed quickly."

Lara frowned as she stood up and went to her tattered traveling bag, unzipping it as Madam Alora observed.

Madam Alora watched as Lara pulled out a torn pant, and she gasped, "What's the meaning of this nonsense?"

Startled, Lara looked at Madam Alora and asked, "Is it me or my pant?"

Madam Alora confirmed, "Yes, it's yours. You can't wear that torn pant and bra out. Jeez! You're going out with a prominent billionaire, not some local client. Janet!"

"Yes, Madam," Janet replied.

Madam Alora instructed, "Give her one of your pants and make sure to buy new clothes and panties for her tomorrow."

"Okay, Madam," Janet agreed.

Lara frowned, watching as Janet took out a transparent and tiny pant from her wardrobe.

Lara gasped, "What's this? I can't wear this nonsense."

Madam Alora stared at Lara in disbelief. She picked up the torn pant with distaste and exclaimed, "Look at this torn pant you want to wear out. It even has holes and has been sewn in many places. I can't believe a beautiful young lady like you would consider wearing this."

Throwing the pant on the floor, Madam Alora picked up the pant Janet offered and held it up. "Ladies like you should wear classy panties that accentuate your curves, not local, dirty ones."

Lara frowned, "Why does anyone care about my panties? It's under my clothes anyway."

Madam Alora insisted, "Enough! Put this on."

Reluctantly, Lara took the new pant from Madam Alora and put it on, the fit leaving little to the imagination.

Madam Alora praised, "Now, this is how a pant should fit. Janet, show me the gown you picked out for her. Does she need a bra with it?"

Janet handed Madam Alora a short red sexy gown, and Madam Alora approved, "Perfect! Wear this and ditch the torn bra."

Lara's frown deepened. She couldn't fathom why she needed to dress so provocatively if she was just meeting a client. She refused to accept the gown or wear it.

Madam Alora asked sternly, "Are you putting it on or not? Should I call Jack? I can easily throw you out to find your way back to the village tonight."

Reluctantly, Lara took the red gown and wore it.

Feeling upset, Lara had no choice but to wear the red gown. She silently cursed Janet as she struggled with the tight dress, which accentuated her figure more than she preferred.

Madam Alora signaled her approval, "Perfect. Now, you're ready. Brush your teeth properly to avoid bad breath. Janet, ensure to look presentable and join me for dinner before you leave. You're both going to Billionaire Mike Ernest's new house. I've arranged everything, and Lara, you'll be paid triple."

"Understood, Madam," Janet replied.

As soon as Madam Alora left, Janet saw Lara crying again. She approached her and said, "I'm sorry."

"Don't touch me! You want me to go to a man's house without even offering me money to return home?" Lara lashed out.

Apologizing, Janet said, "I'm sorry."

"Leave me," Lara demanded. "Where's the toothbrush and toothpaste as Madam insisted on brushing my teeth before meeting the client?"

Janet smiled, handing Lara the items, "Here, be quick."

Angrily, Lara snatched the toothbrush from Janet and started brushing her teeth vigorously.

With or without regular brushing, Lara had naturally white teeth. Yet, Madam Alora had insulted her, accusing her of having bad breath.

Deeply upset, Lara decided she'd confront Madam Alora once she had the chance. She refused to be used for monetary gain from men.

Finished brushing her teeth, Lara emerged from the bathroom to find Janet gone. Sighing, she approached the large wall mirror in the room to admire her reflection.

She was beautiful and wondered why her mother had chosen to marry an older man despite many eligible suitors vying for her hand. Lara promised herself she would not entertain any romantic advances until she was ready for marriage.

Despite reaching adulthood, she hadn't taken any relationships seriously, focusing solely on finding a suitable husband. There were rumors in the village about her mother's past that tainted her reputation, making some wary of associating with Lara.
