Chapter 16: Neglect

On a spur moment the weather must have understood the situation she’s in as the clear blue sky was now accompanied with obscure thick and dark clouds. In any minute from now it was clear that the rain will plummet and destroy the nice weather. Sarcastically speaking, there goes their day crumbling into pits.

On her way inside, the butler opens the double doors and they all followed her in tow. The empty living room was now filled with different heavy footsteps echoing and bouncing everywhere across the room. Hillary stops in front of the staircase and she turns to her heel, facing her uneasy servants. They all look spiritless.

With the look on their faces it’s easy to read the tracks of her mother’s doings. Did she berate them? Or perhaps declared to fire them?
