Chapter 23 - Pt 2
Practising my abilities with Prince Kota was not as awkward as I thought it was going to be, he was pretty professional, not even bringing up what happened a month ago. And all his concentration was focused on making me better.
With his help, I improved a lot even though it was just our first day sparing together. And our session helped me get over the last remnant of uneasiness I felt after my session with Amelia this morning, her last statement still has me shook up. I mean, for a minute there I’d thought she had been referring to Miss Rosa.
Fortunately, as it turns out my supposed step-mother was someone my parents met in their junior year at the academy. “Alright, that should be enough for today.” Breathing heavily, I pull out of my thoughts when Prince Kota stops our training session.

It’s Halloween and in celebration of the holiday, C&K’s most coveted group, Ladies-in-Waiting, had put together a school dance for students in the school’s ballroom. The holiday though ignored by me had put students in a good mood for weeks before its arrival. Mostly because it means they get to have fun during the break, while most students had gone home for the holiday majority of the student population stayed back. It’s Friday and this is my second time watching the jostling game...and my first time actually buzzing with anticipation.Today’s match is between the male fire elemental’s and male water elemental’s. Seated in the auditorium beside Lillian, we wait for debate class to begin. The double doors sprung open and several eyes swivelled in that direction when someone cautiously stepped in, harsh whispers started to float around the room and I raise my head in curiosity. Looking towards the direction people are staring at, I spot Tamil looking like a fearful deer amid predators. She bows her head to hide her teary eyes and quickly hurries to a seat closer to the stage. Frowning, I raised my hand and was about to call out to her, but a light touch made me pause. I frown as Lillian shakes her head in disagreement. “Is she okay?” “It's Damien.” Lillian sighs, her eyes blazing with anger, but concern too.
