CHAPTER 1

AGREED 

I woke up feeling happy but screams loud after I saw a face almost kissing me.

"Ahhh!!!"

I pushed Carline away from me. She almost landed on the floor if she wasn't able to balance herself.

"Ouch!" she whispered.

"Do you wanna kill me?" I asked her because I am still shocked.

She is smiling and didn't mind what I told her.

"Ey... ey... ey... you, smiling, like an idiot, yeah?. I swear,  either something happened or you are thinking of something interesting. I know you!" she is pointing me and tickles me at the same time.

"Stop! Stop! Carline, stop!" I pleaded. 

She stopped for how many seconds and then tickles me again.

"You're such a bad bad liar my friend. I know something happened right?" she giggled and rolled over my bed then blink twice while facing me.

I leaned on my headboard. "I went for a swim in lake crystal early this morning..." I begin but I paused afterwards. 

It gets her interested so much that she also leaned on the headboard.

"And....then, what happened next?" she excitedly asked me.

She pats right my shoulder to secretly tells me to spill the beans already and don't keep her waiting.

"Nothing... I cross the lake border but luckily the electric shock isn't open. So I just rushed back coming home."

"Right... and where's the interesting part on it?" she mumbled.

"None," I said while looking at her.

Her face turned sour.

"Then why are you smiling?! Grrrrrrr!" she said while making weird face expressions. 

I laughed so hard...

"I just woke up feeling happy today that's why..." I informed her.

"I still doubt it. When did you had a white polo? Hmnn?..." she squint her eyes.

"Oh! I saw a man earlier and he gave it because my clothes was drenched!" I tried to convince her by telling a white lie. 

She scanned me and sway her head left to right while having a wide smile.

"Oh, I see. He, older than us?" she asked, wanting to confirm something.

"Yes. Way, way older than us. May around 24 or so..." I told her.

"Aw! As old as my brother..." she mused.

I nodded.

"Why are you here?" I asked her.

"I'm here to tell you that Astrielle and you, should be at my house tomorrow morning cause we will gonna go to town to get our gowns for your birthday party! Deal?"

"It's already February 4 today. I told Mom not to invite so much guests but I guess the whole pack will be present?" I rolled my eyes. 

Carline pats my head, "You will be 18 already. So don't be shy. Also, don't be too shock if she will invite the whole pack. Anyways, I'll informed the boys to be your 18 roses and most of them said, yes. There are only two that needs to be filled. One, your 17th dance partner and second, the one who will dance with you last. Who do you wanna save your last dance with?"

"Hmnn... How about Ranjan and Cornell? Aren't they available?" 

The two are Carline's cousins but already second year college so they aren't mostly home except during vacation.

"Oh, who do you wanna be your 18th dance partner among the two?" 

"Ranjan? Is he available? He doesn't have a girlfriend yet, right?..." I wanted a validation because if her cousins have mates, they might consider me a threat already.

"The two?" she asked me back again and continue speaking, "Those fucktards planned to be single and pure until they will find their soulmates..." she added.

"Then, It's sealed. I'll choose Ranjan," I told her.

"Okay let's call them. It's Friday so they don't have class today."

Carline called Ranjan and only the first ring her cousin answered his phone.

"Yes, Princess? How have you been. We will go home tomorrow morning to be able to attend Wynzlette's party on Sunday evening. Is Wynzlette around you?"

"Yes I'm here. The phone's on speaker. Thank you so much. Can you be my 18th roses dance partner?" I boldly asked him.

I heard him sigh. I thought that he will reject me but I felt so happy when he agreed.

"Sure. I'm sorry that I heaved a sigh earlier. Cornell just nearly burn the house. He cooked egg but that fucker doesn't know how to cook at all. I feel so bad about the egg. It's black!... I love eggs..." 

Carline and I giggled.

"Cornell doesn't know how to cook until now? How awful husband he will become..." Carline chaffed to her cousin.

"Of course not. I burned the egg because you are watching some rated 18 movie! You should watch lion king instead. It will bring you more lessons that watching how to kiss a girl!" Cornell butt in.

"What the fudge!" Carline and I uttered at the same time.

"Ewwww!" We added afterwards.

"It sounds gross, right?" Cornell asked me and Carline.

"Too gross, Ranjan!" Carline answered while I just stayed silent.

"Right?" Cornell agreed.

"It's just part of the movie. I just happened to passed by the kitchen and saw that the egg is already turning into black. Don't ever deny it, Cornell!" Ranjan finally explained.

Oh, now I know. 

"We will be there at your party Wynzlette. Advance Happy Birthday!..." Cornell greeted me in advance.

"Thank you so much and happy to be see you soon again!" I mused.

We talked more about things and stuffs before Carline ends the call. My stomach growl that's why Carline and I laughed in unison.

"You must be starving. We should eat already, now. What do you have in here?"

"Speaking of groceries. I think I'm running out of groceries already. I need to do it before mother will come home tomorrow. Let's go downstairs. I still have Asparagus and kimbab," I uttered. 

I get out of bed and so is, Carline. We went together downstairs and then started to cook the Asparagus. Carline reheated the kimbab already.

"Let's eat... I told her after the Asparagus was cooked..."

"We are a vegan wolves aren't we?..." 

"HAHAHA!" Carline and I chuckled after she said those words.

Someone knocks on the door that's why I went and received the visitor.

It's Astrielle. I open the door wider after seeing her, "Hi! Welcome. Get inside the house... We are suppose to eat already. Let's go and have lunch," I offered.

"Thank you so much. Carline texted me to come over that's why I bring some buttered chicken. Spicy..." 

She raised a grocery bag in the air and the smell of chicken spread all over the house. It makes me so famished. It's mouthwatering. 

We walked towards the kitchen after I close the door and we are welcomed by a smiling Carline.

"Wow! I smell chicken!" she stated and get the grocery bag from Astrielle, she also get extra bowl and sets of plate. 

"Wow! You have kimbab here! Let's dig in?" - Astrielle.

"Let's eat!..." - Me.

"Sure, let's dig in," - Carline.

We eat in silence and after that, we went to the living room and rest a bit before going to Caroline's house. We went straight to their garden. I  settled on one of the four hammocks and even Astrielle. Carline told us wait for her, she'll just get some snacks and juice. 

When Astrielle and I are alone, I tried to begin a topic with her about Casablanca.

"How's Casablanca? Why aren't you doing your studies in there?..."

"Oh, because I like your school and my brother told me to come here..." she answered me shortly like doesn't want to spill some news.

"Wow! I like Remnant. I wanna enroll this coming school year. I wanna took nursing for my pre-med," I spilled to her.

She nodded and swung her hammock then stopped.

I asked her again. I am really curious about the pack's leader and how he manages the whole pack. They said the the whole pack in Casablanca are very rich and obedient. Friendly and very generous. The Alpha though, is a so-so...

"I've never been in Casablanca. How's your place? Is it like here or what?"

"It has cities and also some rural areas like here. The Alpha is living with some locals in one rural area but he also has a place in the city and some other places like the one near the border here. Remnant is located in the metro city..." She smiled, "don't worry you will live there soon..."

I'm a little puzzled to what she said. "Yeah, you're right," I smiled.

She clarified her statement earlier, "Yeah, because you will live there soon cause of studies unless you will gonna come home everyday..."

"Of course not. Mother already bought a house for me but it's in Villa Valle, where is that place by the way?" 

"It's a 15 minutes ride from Remnant and near where one house of Alpha Zhyphere is..."

"I see. It's okay. I can live with that..."

We are being interrupted by the Carline, "What are you two talking about without me? Hmnn?"

Her voice is interrogating. She wants to fish information.

"Ah, about my plan to enroll in Remnant next semester," I said truthfully. 

She pouted, "Yeah?" Carline turned to Astrielle and continue speaking, "We will be enrolling in Remnant. Me and Wynzlette so that we will be close to each other... with you."

Carline winked at me and I winked back to her.

"Sure. I will also enroll in Remnant. I will get education though. Physical Education. I want to teach..." Astrielle happily spilled out. 

"You will be a good teacher for sure!" Carline gave Astrielle a thumbs up.

"Right! I bet, you will be the best!" I seconded and gave her a thumbs up too.

"Have you ever been in a race?" I told them.

"You wanna race with me?" Carline pointed the woods near their house and clapped her hands.

"Later after we have our afternoon snack..."

Carline presented the snack she personally made. There's juice and fruits plus also cake.

"Wow! You made this all?" Astrielle, smelling the cake and the fruits. "So sweet!"

"Aha! That's my specialty to be kept and can only witness by few lucky ones. You guys are privileged..." she hugged me and Astrielle, "I will make one during your birthday..." she pinched my nose so I reacted.

"Ouch! You all love pinching my nose..." I kid. 

"Well, it's our love language for you..." she rebutted.

"Hahaha! You can literally feel their love language for you." - Astrielle.

"Oh, yeah!... Weird fellas," I stated.

"Let's eat..." Carline told so we begin eating.

After the snack session, we watch about a movie where a girl loves a guy and she ends up broken hearted in the end she ended her life because of depression. It's one of the saddest movie that I watched and even my two friends are crying bucket and sneezing hundred times.

"Let's go to lake crystal. The movie is so sad, I wanted to have a refreshment. I need to clear my mind so that I will forgot how the heroine killed herself because of love..." Carline tried to waved her hand after letting out a long sigh.

"Let's go!" Astrielle second.

"Get up!" I mused.

"Let's race, whoever be the last one to be at the top of the cliff overlooking lake crystal will gonna treat us tomorrow a wagyu beef steak at Wolfgang's..." I tempted my two companions.

"Nnnnn. Sure!" Carline said after not being sure to compete with me.

"Why not! I miss Wolfgang anyways..." Astrielle blurted out.

The three of us the fall onto straight line and I counted until three.

"Are you two ready?..." I asked the two after they settled on the starting line that I made just seconds ago.

"Yes, I am," Carline confirmed.

I nodded to her, "Alright.."

"Me too, I'm ready to be the winner! Hahaha!" Astrielle half joked, which makes me chuckled a bit.

I never imagine that she can crack a joke. Her feature is straight and as blank as a sheet of paper that you won't ever guess what is she feeling or if she's serious or not.

"Okay then, let's go! In three!... two!... one!..."

I ran as fast as I can in human form first then turn into my wolf form when I ran about 10 meters already. I am the leading one and Astrielle is approaching me. I don't want to be the second or last so I asked Wynzie, my wolf to speed up.

"Wynzie! let's win so that you will gonna be satisfied with wagyu beef steak of Wolfgang tomorrow!..." I told with her and she obeyed my request.

After 30 minutes of running, I reach the cliff and I let loud growl for my victory run.

I turn into my human form and waited for my two friends. Astrielle is approaching but Carline is almost catching her speed. They ends up to reach the cliff at the same time that's why they play stick, pen, or paper. Carline win the game in the end.

"I want the highest grade of wagyu tomorrow, Astrielle. Thank you in advance..." Carline, in her lovely voice.

"Me too..." I cut in.

"Sure, sure, no problem..."

We settled down the cliff and watch the lake. 2 minutes passed and Carline dropped a question to Carline like a bomb.

"I heard that your Alpha found his Queen already... After so many years of waiting..." 

"Yes. I just heard it from one of the people back home when they call me this morning before I headed to Wynzlette's house..." Astrielle told.

"And I heard that your Alpha is so hot like a real hottie? Not some ugly one from rumors?" 

Astrielle laughed because of what heard from Carline, "Yeah? He's hot? I don't think so, but he definitely has his muscles at the right place..." she quipped, praising her Alpha.

"Wow! Maybe even hotter... in bed too..." Carline spits nonsense.

My face turned red because of what my friend is says. Her vulgar mouth is really something!

"Maybe, only his wife to be will know about that matter but one thing for sure is that he can kill just to protect his soulmate and the pack. Like the rumors said, but not an ugly beast."

Astrielle looked at me and smirked. It seems like she is saying those words for me. I smile even if I am still feeling fuzzy like a kite in the sky.

I pointed myself and Astrielle nodded, "Yeah, he is such a dominant and protective one. Territorial to his business..." she meaningfully said.

"That's awesome! His wife to be is so lucky..." I uttered with a fake smile.  

"How I wish it would be me..." I whispered in my head and Wynzie is wagging her tail inside my head. It's an indication that my wolf is very responsive.

"Do you like him?..." My wolf teased me.

"No..." I blurted out and both Astrielle and Carline looked at me with brows, shot.

"What, No?..." - Astrielle.

"Who are you talking with?..." Carline, inspect me.

"Ah! I am thinking about my birthday if I will invite Queenie..." 

"No!..." Both my friends said simultaneously.

I chuckled. "I will not invite her," I reassured them. 

"Our Alpha is more appropriate to attend your birthday than Queenie..." Astrielle, in a serious tone.

"Invite him then..." I challenge her.

Astrielle raise her one eyebrow and narrowed her eyes, "I really will and he will surely be delighted..." 

"Joke, I don't wanna see him at the party..." I take back my words.

Astrielle look at me with an unbelievable gaze, "He already agreed..." Astrielle informed and put her phone up in the air.

"What?!" I unbelievably questioned her.

I'm too lost for words.

"Be ready..." she advised. 

I swallowed hard because it's like a lump formed inside my throat.

What a nice twist! I just invited an Alpha in my birthday party!

Very impressive of me!
