I grabbed my phone and called Jace. "Matto, what's up?" I explained that I was going to check the perimeter of the house and wanted him and Koda to shift so that I could call for them if I needed them. He said they would and I hung up. I left her asleep and walked out into the brisk cool air. The snow was still falling hard, but I wasn't worried about it. I shifted and immediately caught the scent of the other wolves nearby.
