I greet the guests while the damn hour passes by. Just when you want to give her space, time shows you that you are not and will never own it. I clench and unclench my fists several times to see if the tension is gone. I look several times to where Selena will be appearing and want to run to her and see her beautiful brown eyes shining. I am restrained by my godparents Jimmy and Fernando. I often look at my old bedroom window and wish I can see it for at least a second, but I see nothing as the trees and distance blocks my view. When I realise that the women have given the air of their graces to the party, I feel it is almost time. I prefer to think a little more about how much I am looking forward to it, to finally have Selena as my wife and see my children, only now without escape.
