I stood there in Rig’s shower, water rushing over me, surrounded in steam that smelled like him, and shivered. Not from cold, but from fear.
If I was in love with Rig Landon, why didn’t I trust him? No one had ever made me feel safe the way he did—whether he was himself or in Ralf’s body, it didn’t matter. When he was close, I felt like there was a shield between me and the world. Even last night when he’d been so tense and aggressive, I’d never felt afraid of him.
