Chapter 20: Not His Wife!

Aurora POV

Bolting through the moonlit wood, Ava paused momentarily to look up at the silver moon that illuminated even the darkest corner of the forest, the sombre taste in the air causing the hairs on the back of her neck to prickle. The questionable sounds of men trudging across the brittle woodland instantly confirmed seeing a tall male in the distance.

"Human!" Ava laughed! His mouth locked in a steely line as he stared at me, his brain undoubtedly trying to catch up with what his eyes saw! "We haven't eaten all day; what's one little human!" She teased.

"He is hardly little. He looks more like a damn giant!" I chuckled as she crouched down like a lioness, ready to pounce on her prey; the ear-splitting scream that left the giant's lips as he bolted in the opposite direction had me snickering in the back of Ava's mind.

"Not so brave for a giant after all! Running from a little wolf!" She grinned!

"Do we need to get your eyes checked because you are hardly little!" I counted
