Chapter 13 : She's Not the Princess!

After the engagement party concluded, which was less than a party and more of a gawking session, I returned to my bedroom.

The queen's attendant tossed a large suitcase trunk on the bed right next to me. "It's already packed with what you'll need."

I didn't care about any of that. What I needed was my sister.

Yes, I was relieved to have finally signed the treaty and secured the marriage alliance, but what I wanted most was to see my sister, to know that she was going to be okay while I was gone, to reaffirm that I would be able to see her again once Prince Leonardo and I had our wedding.

"When will I get to see my sister?" I asked the queen who was next to her attendant.

The queen's arms were folded, her expression vexed. "You're not married yet, are you?" she snarled sarcastically.
