CHAPTER 20: IT’S YOU ALPHA~ Harpers POV~“I see you met my mother,” he said. I opened my eyes to look at him again.“I did, I could sit and talk with her all day.” I replied to him. My heart is still fluttering due to his proximity to me. “Can we talk for a moment? I think there are some things that need to be said.” He asked me.“Of course. I guess there are things that we need to discuss.” He took my hand in his, causing what felt like electricity to shoot through my body. He led me to a round rod iron table that was black with only two chairs. One was positioned across from the other. It looked old but well kept. He pulled a chair out for me. Reluctantly releasing his hand, I sat down. He took the seat across from me. Little fairies had decided to join us. Flying around in all directions. Their colors were adding to the already beautiful setting of the garden. Illuminated blues, purples, pinks, yellows, and greens among other colors glittered all around us. I loved how the fairi
CHAPTER 21: KEEPING MY WORD~ Gabriel’s POV ~She didn’t even pull back when I closed the distance between us leaning in licking her bottom lip, teasing it with my tongue. I captured it between my teeth, softly biting and sucking. She let out a soft moan telling me that she was enjoying what I was doing. I reluctantly broke away from her. “Did you like that?” I asked her with a grin. My voice was breathy. She nodded at me and leaned in again, seeming eager for more. I stood from the table. I grabbed her hands and pulled her up to me. Then I wrapped my hands around her waist and pulled her into my chest. She slid her arms around my neck. I dipped my head down and hungrily took her mouth in mine giving her a proper kiss this time. She moaned lowly into my mouth and began to follow my lead. Her hands began to trail down my shoulders and around my back. I was trying to stay gentle and romantic but my desire for her took over. My hands seemed to have a mind of their own. My fingers found
CHAPTER 22: WE DEFEND OUR MEMBERS~ Gabriel’s POV~After the rogues somehow breached our border walls, I decided to walk Harper back to her room myself. It was nice walking back to the packhouse with her hand in mine. It felt right, like I found a part of me that I didn’t know I was missing. When we arrived at the door to her bedroom, she turned to face me. She stood on the tips of her toes and gave me a soft kiss. “Thank you for defending me tonight, though I wish you would just let me handle Thane on my own. I didn’t come here to have someone fight my battles for me.” Harper rested her head against my chest as she spoke to me.“Harper, you know I can’t do that. You are a part of this pack now and we defend our members. Not only that, but I care about you. To ask me not to defend you is like asking me not to defend myself, because to me it feels like we are a part of each other.” Harper looked up to me and gave me a soft smile that didn’t reach her eyes. I can tell that she is conc
CHAPTER 23: WHAT ARE YOU WEARING?~ Harper’s POV~ Waking up the next morning, the first thing that crossed my mind was the way Gabriel kissed me. I had only ever kissed one guy before last night, but it was nothing like the kiss Gabriel and I shared. He kissed me like he didn’t care if anyone saw. The thought of the way the desire was building between us last night made me shiver. I wanted him to claim me so badly. I don’t even want to think about being with someone who is not him. Things shifted in my mind the moment he admitted his feelings to me. I got undressed and took a quick shower. I brushed my teeth and dried my hair. Again, I pulled it up into a messy bun on the top of my head. I had training again this morning. I decided to apply some makeup. I know, it’s ridiculous to wear makeup during a workout and training but I wanted to look good for Gabe. I tried to keep it natural looking, but I added extra mascara making my already long lashes look even longer. I had walked over
CHAPTER 24: SHE IS CONFIDENT, BUT SO AM I~ Harper’s POV ~Kai turned and walked away, leaving me and Gabriel standing there alone. “I thought you and Tanner were going to evaluate me. Also, that display with Samantha. Is there anything that I need to know or be worried about?” I bit my lip worried about his reply to my question. He looked down at me and gave me a warm smile. He placed his fingers under my chin and raised my head up so our eyes could meet.“I just said that because I don’t want Samantha to be your charge. I want you to stay next to me.” He said, flashing me a big smile. “There is nothing about Samantha that you need to be worried about. She is just mad about the way that I ended things and wants to try to continue building a relationship that’s not even there. She already knows that I’m pursuing someone else. I don’t want to hide what you and I have, but I wanted to make sure you were okay with it being public before I said anything. I really want to take things slow
CHAPTER 25: WHO EXACTLY IS THIS GIRL?~ Harpers POV~Something told me this wasn’t going to be a clean fight as Tanner was telling us the rules. A crowd had gathered around the ring. I heard pack members whispering. They all thought that I was going to lose to Samantha. I don’t know her skill set yet. She may be very good. But there’s only one way to find out. The thing is no one here has ever seen me fight before. And if there was anything that I was confident about, it was my skills in combat. My father and mother were the top of their class and highly ranked warriors. I bounced on my feet trying to loosen up before the match began. Samantha looked at me like she was ready to tear my heart out. I gave her a sweet smile back. Hopefully she realized that I was being condescending. Once Tanner was done explaining the rules. Samantha and I both took a defensive stance. We circled each other around the ring. I’m not going to be the first one to attack. I feel like it’s always best to le
CHAPTER 26: THE TERMINAL STONE~ Gabriel’s POV ~After training I got cleaned up and called a meeting with Kai and Tanner. Kai was back home from being out of town visiting family. Kelly let me know this morning that my office is finally finished. It’s on the first floor down the same hallway as my fathers near the dining hall. Sitting at my desk, I developed an outline of things that needed to be covered in this meeting today. I wasn’t waiting long before a firm knock sounded on my door. “Come on in.” I said. Tanner walked in first followed by Kai who shut the door behind him.“Wow, this is nice. You are spoiling yourself a little bit aren’t you Mr. Alpha of the Harmony Moon Pack. By the way, when will my office be completed?” Tanner said with a smirk.“What the hell do you even need an office for Tanner?” I raised my eyebrows at him.“I’m an important beta. I need an important space.” He said jokingly. He was trying to put a serious look on his face without laughing. Kai was stil
CHAPTER 27: A GNAT IN THE EYE~ Gabriel’s POV ~Tanner threw himself back in his chair, as our meeting was coming to an end his mood was lightning back up.“So, Gabe, are you going to explain to us the deal between you and Harper? Or should we keep walking around like we have no idea that you two have a thing…” Tanner said to me with one eyebrow raised. I laughed at him. The thought of Harper and I having a “thing” lightened my mood.“Ok, since she and I were able to clarify things yesterday, I guess I can fill you two in.” Tanner grinned from ear to ear. More than ready to hear what I was about to say. I shook my head at him and rolled my eyes. “Since the moment I first met Harper, I have been completely wrapped up in her.” Tanner looked at me confused.“That doesn’t make a bit of sense, Gabe. I am going to need you to be more specific with what you are trying to say.” Tanner said with a look that would remind you of a doctor that was trying to diagnose you with a serious illness.
