The men appeared rather plain, and the woman who seemed increasingly weak stood out oddly. Melanie silently considered them. "Are you from Serenity Ridge Village?"

The men nodded, "And you?"

Melanie briefly explained their identities, emphasizing that her father was Chairman Jones, who had been supporting Serenity Ridge Village. Only then did the men lower their guard, speaking more casually.

"So, you're the benefactor's daughter! No wonder you're so kind. It's really unfortunate for us. We went to the county for some business and didn't expect heavy rain on the way back. Our car broke down, and we walked for a day and night without food or drink. If we hadn't met you, we might not have made it home."

Melanie nodded in agreement, "We were also stranded last night due to the rain. We want to return to the neighboring village, but the road is blocked and difficult to traverse. We're still hesitating."
