Holding back

I lowered my voice, as I had done to coax her many times before, and whispered: “Shelby, I was wrong.”

I looked at her back and felt funny and aggrieved.

She raised her head slightly and said, " So what are you doing here?”

" Asshole! "

Anyone who leaves can live well.

It had been nearly two months since we broke up. I thought I would find a messy living room when I came back, but to my surprise, it turned out to be clean and tidy.

She folded her hands on her chest, looked up at me slightly, and continued what she had just said at the door,asking: “What's wrong?”

After the door opened, I wanted to go in, but she turned around and blocked my way with flowers, just blocking me from the door.

I lowered my head and bit my lip to look at her, raised my hand to find her hand holding the flower, and placed it on the back of her hand. I rubbed the raised bone on her wrist with my thumb, neither lightly nor heavily.
