Chapter 73 - Alex
I tap away on my phone as I silently laugh to myself. My evil smirk grows even wider as I sit and wait.
Chance slides closer to me and leans over the top of my phone. “What is going on now? Did something else happen?”
Water droplets drip off his wet hair and land in the middle of my phone.
I quickly wipe it away with the back of my hand and grunt, “Hey! Watch what you are doing. I don’t want to have my phone ruined right now. I need it.”
He looks up at me and grunts, “A few drops won’t ruin your phone. Don’t get your underwear in a bunch.” He then leans over my phone again and shakes his head. A wave of water droplets fly in every direction, with several of them landing not only on my phone but also on my face.

Fear courses through my veins as I stare out at the sea of people. The constant flashes have spots dancing around in front of me, but I pull myself together and stand tall and strong next to Alex. He has made one of the hardest decisions in his life, and I’m here to support him. His words only slightly register in my mind as I stand tall like a statue. I have his entire speech memorized.
