Chapter Three

Chapter Three.

Allysa's POV.

“Ouch,” I whined and the impact made me take a step back. Raising my right hand, I rubbed the gap between my forehead.

It didn’t hurt too much but it was pretty hard. And wait? How did a wall freaking get in my back?

“Sorry, are you hurt?” a deep voice asked in concern.

My body halted as I was processing what happened. I immediately took my hand and looked up, there I saw a tall handsome young man with bright blond hair, he was wearing a black retro wayfarer sunglasses.

I immediately took a step back and shook my head. “No, I’m fine. It was my fault for stopping mid-way.” I apologized and offered a smile.

He looks down and his sunglasses slip down revealing a pair of bright alluring blue eyes behind the lens. He offered a kind smile and sigh in relief. “That’s great! I really thought you were hurt.”

I stared at him, he looked so easygoing and carefree. "By the way, why are you just standing there?" He asked in a curious tone.

Suddenly, I got embarrassed. But there’s nothing wrong with answering him, he seems very friendly. I look at his handsome face, who’s looking at me innocently. He looks like a college student, and the way he stands and his bearings are very charming.

Taking a deep breath, I decided to tell him. “I’m here for a drink, but as you can see it is still afternoon. I don’t think bars are open at this hour.”

The blond man chuckled at my answer. I frowned at his reaction. Why? Did I say something funny?

“Why are you laughing?” I asked in a displeased tone and crossed my arms. The young man immediately stopped laughing and shook both of his hands crosswise.

“I didn’t mean to offend you, it was my first time hearing about it.” He apologized and offered a smile.

I mean, there’s no rule that says bars can’t be open in the afternoon? I mean what’s wrong with drinking in the afternoon right?” he explained and shrugged his shoulders.

I thought about what he said.

Yes...

He is kinda right? No one really said that bars are not allowed to open in the afternoon, and I’m here for a drink not to party.

I nodded my head. “Yes, you are right. And if I may ask, are you also here for a drink?” I asked in passing as I turned around. Wondering if he is also like me, here to drink our sorrows away.

The young man chuckled and said, “no, I’m actually here for work.”

“Hah?”

I suddenly stopped and gasped. What? Working?

I turned to him again. "Aren't you a bit too young?" I asked without much thought.

This young man looks very wealthy and the type to just play around. Young and reckless college student.

Before the handsome young man could answer, another voice came from his back.

“Don’t be fooled by his innocent face, ma'am,” a deep voice echoed. A shorter blunette man came out the back. His eyes were lazily looking at us, much shorter than the blond man himself. Though he was still taller than me.

“Awee, don't be like that, Leo.” He whined, took away his sunglasses, and revealed his bright blue eyes and pout his lips, poofing his cheeks.

“Stop whining, Nero. We still have a job to do, let's go." The man ordered and walk ahead. I just stood blankly at my spot.

The blonde man smiled at me and said, "what are you waiting for? The bar is now open." and wiggled his eyebrow.

I still can't believe it, I was speechless. I mean, I know it's not impossible to imagine as there are many college students who work to pay their bills. But this man and the bluenette one look like they are just here to party and chill.

I shook my head and smile a little, my heavy heart was slightly soothed. Maybe it was because of how light the vibe this man emits.

"What job do you do here?" I asked as I started walking toward the bar direction, I'm curious about it. As the team leader and been handling meetings, and presenting to clients. I have developed quite an eye for people, careful with their bearing and temper as it is a sign of their possible response to my proposal. I seldom makes mistake and if I am mistaken, it doesn't fly too far.

"Me?" the man questioned as he pointed to himself as he followed me. I almost rolled my eyes but nodded my head.

"Of course, you are the only one present here," I said in a monotone voice. "Well, unless you are seeing things that normal people would not be able to see." I teased.

He laughed and answered me. "Nah I'm pretty sure I'm very much a normal person that sees normal things. I'm just a regular bartender here."

My left eyebrow raised. "That's interesting. I never thought you off as a bartender." that's all I could say as I don't want to be too brazen that I might offend him.

He chuckled. "There's no need to give such a lukewarm response. I know I don't look like a reliable bartender as I appear too carefree and high spirits, not calm and tranquil."

My mouth dropped because of what he said. Did he just put words in my mouth?! I didn't say it like that! I didn't it that way!

He laughs out loud when he saw my expression. "HAHAHAHAHA I'm just joking, I know you meant well. No need to filter your thoughts, just speak your mind freely."

His energy was contagious and I could not help but smile and said. "Bartending does not seem to suit you."

"Woahh easy there miss ma'am" he shook his head and tsked. "that's too harsh for you to say!" he blatantly accused.

What the heck! I stop mid tracks and was about to punch his side when he step away from me and laughed. "Just kidding. You seem a little down so I thought a little joke would help brighten your mood."

I shook my head and said. "Thanks, now I feel the urge to punch someone right through the face."

"Woah that's pretty violent but anyway I haven't introduced myself properly." He started with a smile. "I'm Nero, a part-time bartender of Seraphim." He introduces himself while offering his hand. I nodded and answered, "I'm Allysa, and it was not so nice to meet you."

He just chuckled. "Well, let's go! We have so many drinks you can try and love!"

We went inside without further ado.

...

Seraphim features two different opulent rooms, making it more than just a bar. They are divided by a massive entryway. similar to a doorless warehouse entrance.

Strobing lights and loud, thumping music are always playing at the Club. The Bar is accessible from the Club. For those who want to maintain the club's atmosphere, there is a bar within the club.

Both rooms have a VIP section. Typically for wealthy people or events. The region below is prettier than this one. Above, staring down at the ground floors, are the VIP areas. Over the lower level doorway, they also have a connecting doorway.

I have not heard of this bar club but it looks pretty promising. When I search for it online, there were no articles about though. I walk up towards the bar counter and climb up on a high chair, soon enough Nero appeared behind the counter wearing a plain black long-sleeve top and black trousers. He smiled very friendly and walked up towards my spot.

I didn't waste my time and ordered a drink. "I want a Green Apple Vodka."

Nero smiled and replied, "right away ma'am!" as he walk away and took some bottles and materials, and started mixing the drink. It was great to know that currently, I'm the only one here.

Thud.

A glass was placed on the counter, scooping me from my thoughts. I took it gratefully and drank it in one go.

"Hah."

It was a good mix, and it didn't burn my thought. The sweetness was alright, it's within my liking. "Another one," I ordered.

Nero happily obliged and did another mix. I gulped down another glass, and then another. Soon enough, my head was slightly getting dizzy. But my thoughts are still coherent, and slowly the Seraphim was now getting louder. People started coming, forming a crowd or two. Music is slowly vibrating all over the place as different colored lights started moving.

Slowly, it becomes a club, full of life and entertainment. I like it, I like what I am seeing. Everyone is trying to have fun, talking, flirting, making out, you name it. I never had thought a bar club would be like this, fun and entertaining. Now, I do understand why was this bar named Seraphim, this is heaven for people.

I look up toward the second floor and saw something.

The man had a flawless face, an artwork of perfection. His chiseled face made him an irresistible object of desire. Even the male peers would gaze upon him with awe and amazement. Especially those deep-set eyes, like they could see through your soul and charmed you within seconds.

A giggle escaped from my lips.

A Seraphim has fallen, an angel climbing down from heaven.
