Chapter 16 The blind date

I arrived at the restaurant and sat down at the table that was reserved for me. The sound of clinking silverware and muted chatter filled the air as I scanned the room for my blind date. A hint of frustration simmered within me as I checked my wristwatch.

Time was a currency I valued greatly, and her tardiness didn't sit well with my punctual nature. She was supposed to come at 7 pm, but she didn’t show up yet.

Adjusting my tie, I glanced around, thinking to wait for another ten minutes. If she didn’t show up within that time frame, I would leave.
