Zack’s POV *Flashback continues* Two years had passed since I and Annie got married. We were very happy. I was so in love with her. She was my first love. Our wolves had bonded on the night we finally mated, our wedding night. It was such a special night for both of us, our wolves joined. The whole pack had witnessed our union at the park. We were bonded under the red moon where we exchanged our vows. It was till death do us part. Our paths had crossed and now we’re a family. Although we would have very much preferred any other house than the mansion we lived in. A little house we can call our home. Away from prying and watchful eyes, waiting to catch the faintest hint of rumor to spread. A place we can freely express our love and passion. Living in the mansion was restrictive. We had to live by a certain code of conduct. We had to be formal and dress up for dinner. Staffs and bodyguards everywhere. It has it’s perks but nothing like privacy in your own home. We had just complete
Zack’s POV I got home after my encounter with the mysterious physician who gave me medicine contained in a flask bottle. He had assured me that it will be the answer to our unresolved problem. He gave me a directive on how to use it. I had high hopes that this would be effective so that we can go back to our normal lives in the pack. Annie can finally be happy too. She has suffered and endured a lot. I got back to the apartment I rented for both of us to live in temporary while in this country. I got a space in a serene environment. Annie needed the quiet and less interactions with people. I stocked up the house with everything I thought she needed to be comfortable. I registered her for yoga session so she can keep busy whenever I leave the house. I opened the door to the apartment and spotted my wife, Annie in the kitchen. She was at the sink rinsing some veggies. There was a chopping board and knife close by. I guessed she was about to make a salad. Something sweet was cooking
Zack’s POV *Back to Present day* “I remember how heart broken you were when we lost her. “ Aiden said. “You were totally lost. I had never seen you in that state before. I knew you loved her, but I did not think it was that deep. “ “You looked like you had just lost both your limbs. “ he added. I remained silent as I tried to unlock the bottled up emotions I had locked away. “Do you still feel hurt when you relive the memory? “ he asked. “Not so much any more. It definitely left a big scar that I know I’ll live with for the rest of my life. “ I replied quietly. “Yeah, i’m sure it would. “ he said. “I mean you almost took your own life because of it. “ he said. He stood up and refilled my glass with more whiskey. I hadn’t realized that it was empty. I was feeling everything now. The grief was still there. “I....... “ I started to say. “Wait, how did you know where to find me. I made you stay at the hospital and I never did send my location to you. Did you follow me? “ I asked.
Freda’s POV ****The sweet smell of lavender across a wide field, the soft dance of the wind against them, the sound of birds chirping and the sky blue with soft pillows of clouds over the field. I spotted Zack down the meadow and waved. “Plum, come on, let’s eat lunch “ he says. I ran across the field towards him. “Hello, wife! “ Zack said as he gave me a sweet kiss on my lips. “Husband! “ I purred. “I love it how you say it. “ he said against my lips. “What? Husband? “ I said again. “I ought to have you for lunch. “ he said in a deep voice. “Mommy, daddy! “ a little girl called as she ran over to us. “Oops, I guess not today. “ I teased. Zack gave me a side eye as he opened his arms wide. The little girl jumped on his arms as he lifter her up. “Mummy, where did you go to? Daddy says lunch is reach. “ she says to me. “Oh honey, I went to get some flowers for you. “ I say to her. I give her the flowers in my hands. “Thanks mommy, they’re beautiful. “ she says. “Let’s go in.
Zack’s Pov “If what you need is the assurance, then I will give it to. Once you are done with breakfast, you and I will both find out where the people stand in my relationship with you. “ I said. It seems Freda is finally ready to give me a yes. I had dreamt and waited patiently for our future together to finally begin. If it is assurance she needs, then I sure will give it to her. With that, I got up and left Freda’s room. I headed towards my room. I quickly took my bath and threw on some clothes. The only way to get that assurance for Freda will be to get the blessing of the pack’s elders. According to tradition, they are the fathers and decision makers for the pack. Their decision is almost as impactful as that of a pack’s alpha. The people will stand by their elders’ unanimous decision because they believe the elders represent them in all aspect. I know it may be impromptu to call on them now, but this was very important to me and I cannot waste any second waiting. I went dow
Zack's POV"I am Zack Zanders", I said, "Alpha of Red moon pack. "They bowed in respect. One of them spoke up. "We are of the Hidden crest pack. " he said. "My name is Kyle. Our alpha kindly request your presence in our pack."I studied them for a bit. They were five in total. They looked just like any man that could come your way. They we're mostly dressed in jeans and dark colored tee shirt. They were all well built in body frame. They had muscles that shows extra time in workout and bodily training. Marks here and there, proof of previous battles fought. They were quite tall. One of the men who looked like he is in charge looked especially taller than the rest. He was the one who spoke earlier. My wolf senses can tell they are from a different pack. However he senses no danger from them. Since they are from a neighboring pack, I will patiently hear what they have to say. "And who is your alpha, if I may ask? " I queried."Our alpha, is Lord Khal of the Hidden crest pa
Freda's PovI awoke with the first light of dawn, a sense of purpose filling my heart. I have always wanted to be a member of the pack, but today I wanted to do more than simply exist within it. I wanted to contribute, to be a meaningful part of their collective journey. It was time for me to step up.The elders may not like me or approve of me, but I am not going to let that get to me. I will not let them win, I said with determination to myself. No matter what they say, I believe I have made friends and acquaintance amongst the people who will love me for who I am. I got up from my bed with purpose. I was sad and down for two days now. But not anymore. I went into the bathroom, brushed my teeth and had a thirty minutes soak in the bathtub while humming to "I will survive " song that was playing from my mp3 Bluetooth device. I got out and dried my body with a towel. I went to my wardrobe and rummaged through my clothes. I wanted to look good and at the same time, comfortable. I
Zack’s PovAfter spending two days at the Hidden crest pack, I and the men I brought along with me prepared for our journey back to our home. The previous night, the alpha of Hidden crest pack, Kronoks, threw a feast in my honor. We had reestablished the ties that Kaine had severed before. Kronoks and some of his people escorted us to our vehicle. “Thank you for hosting my men and I. We enjoyed ourselves yesterday. It was a breath of fresh air.” I said to Kronoks. “No, we should be thanking you. Your generousity is refreshing and I am proud to call you an ally. Just know that in anything, Hidden crest pack is behind you. “ he said. “That’s good to hear. So you will send your men when you are ready to collect your possessions, right? “ I asked. “Yes, I will. I will place a call to you when we are set to come. “ he replied. “Perfect. It was nice meeting you, Kronoks. “ I said, extending my hand for a handshake. “Yes, it is, Zack. “ he said taking my hand for a firm handshake. “Yo
