A Promise I Won’t Keep
6:00 PM, the sun is setting, soon it will be dark and Mallory will be home. Maybe I should clean the bedroom before she gets home. I slowly climbed the wooden stairs with my bare feet.
‘Come it’s almost 9 o'clock you should be sleeping, you still have school tomorrow.’ I said and took Mallory by hand as we climbed upstairs to the bedroom.
‘My feet hurt, carry me Mama.’
‘Okay here you go.’
‘Strong Mama,’ she said. ‘I love you, Mama.’
‘I love you too, baby.’
I open the door to the bedroom. There is a dark brown framed window at one corner where the light comes from. The yellow and orange light freely pushes through the open window. The yellow orange light hits the wooden floor. I see Eric stand right there

I passed by one or two salons, they resumed operations but with very limited numbers of customers only are allowed inside the shop. Only 30% only capacity of the store is allowed, and you will see only one or two customers inside the salon. And to me it’s like a sad picture of an economy falling apart, although it’s one of the harsh reality of the pandemic.And yes I come across few people on the street all wearing face masks. Yellow and Orange SkySaturday 5:20 PM, I stand beside the Saturday 5:20 PM, I stand beside the open window of the bedroom. At one moment I was hypnotizedby how aesthetically the sunset paints the skyyellow and orange. A Dream House(Continuation)I sat on the beige colored tiled floor of the living room. And I looked around me, the ceilings are neatly painted white, while the walls are covered with medium toned brown wallpapers.I opened another box. From the box I pulled out lots of books, maybe fifty to seventy of them. The books come in different forms, big and small, thin and thick.
