Chapter 50: A Shift

ALESTERIA FELL asleep after crying so much, her head still resting on Xerxes' shoulders as he softly bounced while continuing to pat her back.

It has been a few minutes since the whole touching apology and after Alesteria calmed down, there is still no talking between them until she fell asleep.

They just want to feel each other's presence after a long period of not seeing each other.

Perhaps she exhausted herself from crying with all the bottled-up emotions she has had for the past few days, especially given she is only three years old.

A child could only take so much.
