Chapter Twenty-Five

I blinked my eyes open.

The sight of the familiar white walls greeted me. Aristotle was sitting on a stool beside my bed, I noticed. He was clutching my hand while his head was down. I sat up slowly, which jolted him awake. "Nola!" he exclaimed, immediately standing up to assist me in resting my back on the headboard.

 When they heard Aries, Link, Keegan, Malcolm, and Ynigo all stood up. Gio returned to Samar, which is why he isn't here. "What happened?" While massaging my temples, I talked.

 "You passed out. The doctors performed some tests for you," he replied. I turn my head to look at my sister's bed. It finally occurred to me. She's no longer there. Her chances of waking up are already vanishingly small.
