I opened my eyes and found myself staring at the unfamiliar ceiling. I was lying on a bed covered in silver silk sheets, and this bed certainly wasn't my own. Cinnamon. Everything around smelled like cinnamon—a perfect mix of spicy and sweet. I lifted myself to sit and looked around. The room was brightly saturated by the sunlight falling from the floor-to-ceiling windows. The wall, ceiling, and floor color tones drifted from dark grey through dove-like shades to white, giving the impression that this place was impeccably clean. Suddenly, the door in front of me opened, and Asriel walked inside, carrying a glass of water. He was wearing a black shirt with an unbuttoned collar and rolled-up sleeves, and a pair of black pants. A few strands of his black ruffled hair fell on his forehead, filling me with an irresistible urge to comb them up with my fingers.

"You're awake." He smiled and handed me the glass of water.

My lips curled up nervously. "H-how did I get here?"
