I found myself shifting into my black wolf and barreling into the forest. The vibrations of my paws hitting the earth were nothing compared to the sound of my heart hammering in my chest. It was all too much. One would think I'd be used to it by now but even an arsehole like me needed to catch a break every once in a while.
