The results Alpha King didn't want to see, of course, weren't the results I wanted to know either. I didn't understand Jack, I didn't know what kind of person he really was but I understood the trust Alpha King had in him. He was Alpha King's childhood friend. He was also one of the few werewolves that Alpha King could trust. A lot of werewolves act up in the face of benefits. Alpha King had great power, obviously he would be deceived by many werewolves because they wanted to get benefits from him or avoid punishment.

Alpha King took a long time to trust someone so he got upset when his trust was misplaced. If even Jack betrayed Alpha King, he probably couldn't trust anyone, including me.

"Do you want to interrogate Shadow Killer again?" I gently asked Alpha King.

Letting a sinner get away with guilt or making a werewolf who made no mistakes suffer unjustly were all extremely serious mistakes.

Jack was Alpha King's childhood friend so Alpha King more or less understood him
