Dominic arrived breathlessly at the hospital, and no sooner had the nurse on duty told him where Madox was than he ran back around the corner and saw him sitting next to a young boy. His eyes were closed and his head was leaning against the wall behind him. His expression was grim.

He knew from the bond that united them that his partner hadn't died, or else he wouldn't be standing up, but he deduced that his state wasn't good enough for his friend to be like this. Madox felt him and opened his eyes, frowning at the sight of him. He got up and walked to stand in front of him.
