CHAPTER SIXTY TWO: GOODBYE FOR NOW
Kayla’s POV
I watched the predatory expression on Zane’s face and a shudder passed through my frame at the fierceness emanating from him. I, the Feral Assassin who had killed wild rogues for years, found him intimidating despite knowing that he wouldn’t ever hurt me. I couldn’t help but pity those who were going to be in his path when he was in his war mood because Alpha Zane Black was a force to be reckoned with and once he hone in on you as his target, you better pray for a fast death.
I hadn’t seen him in action other than when he faced the rogues in the forest, and I knew that he was holding himself back from being violent in front of his fragile mate, aka me. But from the violence that was radiating off his frame now, I knew that he meant business and he will bring death in his path when he finally gets into action.
