Jasmine's POV
The weekend went by quietly because Mom had given me a cold shoulder. I thought she would have had a change of heart and appreciate Bradley for what he did, but I was wrong.
I took my frustration with me to work on Monday. A look of gloom was on my face for the entire morning while I carried out my tasks.
"Jasmine," a voice said behind me. He approached my desk and looked at my face, arching his eyebrows with concern and curiosity. "What's the matter?" he asked.
"I don't know," I answered, replacing my unpleasant expression with a fake smile.
But he was Evan Hollen and nothing got passed Evan Hollen. He saw right through my pretense.
"Tell me what's wrong with you."
"What makes you think something is wrong with me?" I asked.
"Because I know you and sadness is written all over your face."
I smiled.
"Maybe what I have to tell you will actually turn around your mood for the better."<
Jasmine's POVI changed into a pair of black jeans, a white T-shirt and a pair of flat sandals I brought along with me. I gathered my notepads, pens, pencils and stuck them into my large folder. I took my purse and room key. I shut the door behind me and made my way downstairs to the lobby where Evan was waiting so we could get to the meeting. His rental car was parked outside the entrance. The ride to the meeting was silent. He didn't say a word and neither did I.We arrived at a three storied building complex. A large black gate automatically opened as our car approached. He drove up to the parking lot area and parked. He held a large brown envelope in his hand as he got out. I followed suit, without a word. Two could definitely play this game."Ah, you've made it!" a voice belonging to a very beautiful woman said with enthusiasm as she came up and shook hands with him."And good morning to you. You must be Miss Blackman, yes? I'm Mr
Jasmine's POVI rolled out of bed, eyes on his sleeping figure as I tiptoed to the bathroom. I took another shower, changed my clothes, and sat down on the bed afterwards, reading through a recent gossip magazine. He stirred. "Hey," his voice croaked out."Hi," I answered him.He sat up in bed, scrunching his eyes from the rays of the sun coming through the glass door of the balcony. "What time is it?" he asked."Four thirty""Ughh! Get dressed, baby. I'm taking you out to get something to eat," he offered as he got out of bed. He put his T-shirt and pants on and kissed my forehead before he left the room.I quickly went over to the tiny suitcase I came with, looking for something sexy and tempting to wear. I had just had steaming hot sex with this man and I wasn't about to bore him away from me anytime soon. My hands found a tight red dress with spaghetti traps and a low neck line which showed just enough cleavage. I
Jasmine's POV"How was your trip?" Zenia asked as soon as I came through the door.It had been a few weeks since my trip with Evan to the Bahamas. Once we got back he jumped right back into work. The day we got back he had a meeting to attend and had one of his personal drivers take me home. With my work schedule, and Zenia's new work schedule, I hadn't had time to relay anything to her. We were always crossing paths but had not real time to talk."It was lovely," I answered, my mind reminiscing back to the heated sex I had with my boss. My body placed close to his. His tongue traveling to the sensitive part of my neck and my skin raising with goosebumps. He was quite the accomplished lover."You know you're smiling, right?" Zenia said, folding her arms as she smirked."Where's Mom?" I asked, changing the subject."Mom found a job.""WHAT?!""Mom... found... a... job," she repeated slower.
Jasmine's POV"Can we please have this to go? I'm not feeling so good suddenly," I lied."What's wrong, sweetie?" Concern in his voice as his eyebrows creased on his forehead."I think I might be coming down with the cold or something. Can we just go, like, right now?""Sure. Lets get you home."Shooting up from my seat, I took the lead and walked out the cafe easily and unseen.___________"You can't be serious! You're doing exactly what I told you not to do," Zenia grilled me like I was the younger one. I had told her what transpired at the cafe. "You're just lucky he hadn't seen you. You're playing with fire and you're going to get burned if you don't settle those flames. Just make up your mind and stop playing games with those two men."It's either you forgive Bradley completely and accept him back in your life, or just tell Evan everything and he could give you back the money to refund Bradley, sin
Jasmine's POVIt was quiet all around me as I was engulfed, alone, in his comfortable bed. One word described my mood. Happiness."Evan," I said, softly, climbing out of the bed and looking around the bedroom. My instincts took me through a door in front of me. I walked along an aisle then pushed through a pair of double doors. I peered over banisters and saw maids and a security guard moving about. I went back into the bedroom for my cellphone."Hey baby," I heard his voice behind me and I was instantly pulled against his powerful chest. "You're finally up," he whispered in my ear."Uh huh," I let out through a breath that had already been taken away. This man would be the death of me."I have to ask you about something and I'm only going to ask you this once," he said, turning me around so I was facing him. The seriousness in his eyes made my heart skip a beat or two from fear. "Are you and Bradl
Jasmine's POV"Jasmine. JASMINE!" I heard my mother's voice calling me. The covers were yanked off from over me and I felt the coldness of the room."Uuugghh!" I growled like a tiger."Jasmine. Get up, baby. You have to go to work. It's Monday and it's already 7:30 am.""I'm not going into work today Mamma," I said, sitting up and rubbing my eyes from the sleep still in them."Why? Do you have another day off?"I hadn't told my mom nor my sister about the stupid shit I did at the gala yet."Mom, I quit my job," I cut to the chase. She was bound to find out sooner or later, since I was now a person of interest to the press."You did WHAT?" The last word rung out like a loud bell in my head.I shielded myself with one of my bed pillows. "I quit my job.""And why the hell would you do something so damn stupid?"She was mad. "Hell" and "damn" were her way of cussing ou
Jasmine's POVI had a terrible headache for the remainder of the weekend. I spent days in my bedroom wrapped up beneath my covers, concealing myself from the world. I had zero interest in speaking to anyone and zero appetite to eat daily meals. On Monday, my mother let herself into my room, determined to get me on my feet."Jasmine, please get up and get yourself together," she advised."Nooo," my voice broke just like my heart already had."Jasmine. Your life isn't over. You hiding in your room won't fix your mistakes. What you need to do is go back to Hollen Tower and apologize to your boss. If he loves you, or had any feelings for you, he just might forgive you and take you back. But you can't hide here and expect him to come to you when you're the one who walked away. Get up now, Jasmine."She literally pulled me off the bed. I had no choice but to gather myself together."What time is it?" I asked her
Evan's POVEmily became my preacher, Zack was my therapist and EJ acted as a guidance counselor. All three of them together stopped me from finding Bradley and tearing him apart with my bare hands.Seeing Jasmine only channeled my anger more. I wasn't expecting to see her back so soon, but she should consider herself lucky that I was in a better state of mind.I had never laid hands a woman, nor will I ever even think about doing such a cowardly act, but I wanted to see her hurt, like the way she hurt me and embarrassed me at my gala. Hopefully, the rose made such statement.I had been the topic of gossip since that time, which was something I tried to avoid or have at a low."Billionaire had his job handed back to him.""Billionaire's assistant assisted millionaire at his Gala.""Billionaire versus millionaire over an assistant."I was tired of hearing it all.Truth be told, I missed Jasmine and it had
