Ethan Junior's POV
I fucking hate Mondays.
I cursed obscenities underneath my breath for the entire morning in my office.
Miscarriage. Won't be able to have another baby.
My cellphone rang for the umpteenth time and I saw it was her, I smashed it against the wall.
I had spent the rest of the weekend in my bedroom, moping around like a little bitch while everyone else was happy and satisfied with their lives.
I wouldn't be able to have another chance of fathering my children with the woman I was falling madly for.
Angry tears slipped out of my eyes, and I threw myself on the three-seat leather couch in the office.
A knock came on the door and someone walked in. I knew, just by the scent of the aroma, it was my brother. I pulled myself upwards and sat up.
"Didn't slept last night?" he asked, taking a seat across from me. "What's going on with you, EJ?"
I heaved a long frustrated sigh
Zenia's POVHis words stung. They stung like a swarm of bees attacking with their stingers because you've destroyed their beehive.I silently cried as I got into a cab and took out my phone to message my sister through my pouring tears and tormenting chest pain.Me: Can you plz come over. I need u.Big Sister: Where r u now?Me: Cab. Omw home.Big Sister: OK. I'll see u soon.I placed my palm on the security scanner before walking in the door. I flopped down on the chair, wiping away the tears that kept on coming. My chest ached as if a ton of weight was pressing against it. My breath shortened, and I thought I was in a horror movie being suffocated by the killer with a pillow over my face.My lips quivered and I anxiously stared at the door, waiting for it to burst open and reveal my sister. She was the only person who actually knew how to comfort me.Jasmine arrived ten minutes later. She rus
Zenia's POV"It's EJ."My heart raced around my chest. I hadn't heard his voice in over a week. My head was telling me to hang up, but my heart was curious to hear what he had to say."What is it?" I asked in a tone that would definitely make him realize I wasn't so excited for his sudden phone call."Can we talk?""About?" I was keeping it as short as possible."Us."My heart spread wings and some butterflies danced around in my stomach."We're done, remember?" I recalled his words, ignoring my flying heart and the butterflies fluttering in my stomach. There was a long pause from his end, and I was certain he was thinking deeply about the next thing to say."Zeni...""Goodbye EJ." I hung up.I couldn't forget the hurtful words he said to me when I took the liberty of going to his office to have a face-to-face conversation like grown people. He was so disresp
Zenia's POVEJ made a slow approach towards Anton, and I knew what was coming. With the temper he possessed, and the tension coming from him, it was going to get ugly very quickly.I rushed between them before he got too close to a startled Anton."Why are you here?" I asked, trying to direct his attention to me instead."I asked you who's this guy?" His dark grey eyes locked onto Anton."This is my new friend," I answered."I'm Anton." Anton held out his hand to EJ, who only looked at him as if he had the Ebola virus. After a few seconds, Anton pulled his hand back without a returned handshake."Why's this dude here with you?" EJ's eyes shifted over to me."We got caught in the rain so--""And so what? His house doesn't have a roof? Why do you have him up here with you? Oh, so that's why you couldn't answer your phone, huh? You were busy with entertaining this guy, Zeni
Ethan Junior's POV"Don't do this. Just, please, sit back in your seat, and lets continue our dinner."My brother placed a firm grip on my shoulder, stopping me in my path and putting an end to the flaming temper. I had intended to release on that guy.I went back to my seat, scrapping the chair on the floor as I pulled myself up to the table. My temper slowly decreased as I stabbed my fork into the bed of vegetables in front of me."Are you okay EJ?" Mom asked."I'm good Mom."Mom had wanted us to have a family dinner ever since the beginning of summer. But everyone always seemed too busy.Dad was being Dad-- always had something to do. Evan was the same old Evan, CEO of Hollen Tower, and always used that as an excuse to get away from family bonding. Jasmine was busy planning her wedding and being a mom, but tonight my mom had managed to capture us all and drag us to this restaurant for a family dinner.
Zenia's POV"I know last night was irksome, and I apologize for everything, especially EJ."It was Saturday morning, Anton and I were taking a stroll through the park."You don't have to apologize for his behavior towards me. I know he doesn't like me because he believes I'm standing in his way."Sharing a small laugh we walked over to a bench, licking ice cream cones."He does care about you, you know that right?""Actually, it's very complicated between he and I. It's like two steps forward then ten steps backwards. Today we're happy, then tomorrow it's a complete different story. I just want everything to stop or to slow down.""But that's life, Zenia. Nothing is going to stop or slow down for our liking. I was once in your very situation, and I felt like I was going crazy."It then crossed my mind that I never asked him if he had a girlfriend."Do you have a girlfriend?" I spoke
Zenia's POV"YOU KISSED ANTON?!" Ashley asked, a bit too loud for my liking. It was Sunday and she had come over to the penthouse for some girl chat. Of course, just like me, she was always interested in gossip and juicy stuff."Yes, I kissed him," I answered as I watched her trying on my favorite pair of sneakers in my bedroom."What was it like?""Just normal." I hated the feeling that there weren't any sparks, flames or electricity between our kiss."Sounds boring."I scoffed silently to myself. With EJ, our flame was out of this world. The boy knew how to get underneath my skin and have me craving for his lips on mine. Every touch from him automatically made my skin grow goosebumps. EJ was everything."Just don't let EJ find out about that kiss, or else he'll kill that British boy," she added."EJ isn't the boss of me, Ashley, and, quite frankly, I'm really tir
Zenia's POVI sat down on the chair, very close to the table, staring at my reflection in the mirror as if I had never seen myself before. Digesting a successful finish, I rose from the chair, held up the long train of my maid of honor dress and made my way to the limousine that awaited me and Mom's arrival.I stared out the window for the entire ride to the cathedral where my sister would be joined in holy matrimony with Evan Hollen. Their wedding day had finally arrived, and I was rather excited for her. She deserved him, and he deserved her; they made each other happy.I smiled as I thought about Jevan and the potty mouth he possessed. He was such a delightful child and I loved him so much. The limousine came to a halt upon reaching the church. I stepped out and Mom followed suit. I quickly walked to one of the chambers where Jasmine was waiting. She was crying with happiness as I knocked and entered the small room."Hey, so today is the
Zenia's POV"I hate that bitch! She's like a blood sucking tick draining the life from my relationship with EJ. Why can't she just leave us in peace?"I was in a fit of rage and Ashley was finding amusement from it. She laughed lightly as she cut the pattern to her newly designed dress."You're crazy. If Madison was going to come between you and EJ then it would've happened, but he has to allow her to let that shit happen. EJ loves you. I don't know why you're over there acting up like a hormonal baboon.""Ashley! I really don't want any insults. You're not helping.""Zenia, I'm tired of giving you advice and, yet, you do the opposite of what I say. You have to figure out what you want and how much effort you're willing to put in for it."I slid down onto the floor, lowering my head to my knees, calming myself."Stop being a drama queen. You're all mad for absolutely nothing."The door bell chi
