CARMEN
I took slow steps towards Jasper’s mother, a faint smile on my face as I bent in front of her and placed my hands on hers.“Can you see me?” I questioned, but her eyes were no longer focused on me as they had been when I was standing a few feet away. They were focused on the spot where I was standing earlier.“I don’t know if you can hear me, but if you can, I’m sure you already know who I am by now. I’m Carmen, your daughter-in-law.
