Chapter 21

Sophia’s POV.

I should have been awarded something for my shamelessness and lack of a strong will. I succumbed to his touch too easily. The moment he planted his lips on mine, I melted away. He rolled over the bed to the side of his bed that was closest to the wall and not too long after, I heard him snoring. It was loud enough to deafen me but I had to ignore it.

I tried to catch some sleep but it was not forthcoming. I felt thirsty a little so I opted for a glass of water downstairs. As soon as my feet landed on the floor, I felt Derrick move. He woke up and stared at me.

“You're not running away because of what I said, are you?”.

I had never thought of that but hearing him say that made me rethink, “And shouldn’t it? You gave me enough reason to, remember?”.

“We didn’t agree to be mates and lovers. We agreed to have a son for me in exchange for my protection and a wish, need I remind you?”
