Dylan raced downstairs while putting on a T-shirt to look the least decent. Isabel had left the house with Xavi and Fernando by the time he rushed out of the study, so he was left with no choice but to search out their whereabouts. He didn’t bother using their scents. That would only slow him down and wear him out. He decided to drive to the main pack house or better still, look out for a large crowd, because he could feel it that his mate was going to make a big fuss about this issue. Tightening his grip on the steering wheel, while anxiously looking out the window, Dylan hoped to get to his mate on time, to steer her away from taking a grave action. After fifteen excruciatingly long minutes of driving, Dylan caught sight of a large crowd in the distance. This was at the pack’s main square. Isabel was sitting on the bottom step of the staircase staring at her mate who was on the couch in the living room staring at the TV with a blank expression on his face. She sat there deep in contemplation. How does she approach her mate after treating him so badly? She was filled with guilt and remorse for almost killing her mate. Unlike her wolf, her beast wasn’t easy to tame, that was why she had no control of her actions in the last couple of hours. It shows up whenever she is in a very difficult situation or when her anger is at its peak. Ever since Isabel found her mate, she has made a concerted effort to conceal her beast, by frequently suppressing her anger because she feared that her mate would hate her the very minute he sees the despicable monster she was harboring inside her. “That good for nothing piece of shit stole my spot, dad… I won’t let that asshole have the last laugh. I can’t let him win!” A drunk Carlos angrily exclaimed, slamming his fist on the table. “You should’ve killed him when you had the chance, now he’s one step ahead of you… All our years of hard work has gone down the drain.” Ignacio hissed. Carlos and his dad were presently in the Red moon cocktail bar venting their anger over drinks. The pair were still upset about the embarrassing incident that transpired earlier that day, and were yet to accept defeat. Rather than show signs of repentance and think of ways to fall back in favor with Isabel, Carlos was bent on getting revenge on Dylan. He was determined to get Dylan out of the way and regain his place as Isabel’s lover. Dylan paced the living room restlessly. He was anxiously awaiting Isabel’s return. The heavy downpour wasn’t helping the current situation as he was more worried about his mate’s health. She had left the house angrily without her phone or car, so there was no way he could trace her whereabouts. ‘This is all your fault’ he told himself over and over again, face palming his forehead. Why did he let his jealousy get the best of him? He shouldn’t have over reacted over such a trivial matter. ‘You should’ve thought of it as trivial two hours ago.’ his wolf grumbled, still upset about being separated from its mate. “I admit I was wrong. I’m sorry.” Dylan apologized to his wolf, but it wasn’t having any of that. ‘Sorry isn’t bringing her back.’ His wolf was making him feel worse, and he hates to admit it but his wolf was right. His worries wouldn’t bring her back, rather he was slowly losing his mind. “This won’t do.” He threw the front door open, ready to search every nook and cran

Dylan slammed the door shut behind them with his foot, circling his arms around Isabel’s small waist. His fingers fiddled with the belt on her bathrobe until it was let loose. Her scent flooded his sense, burning him with desire. “I want you.” Her captivating voice whispered in his ear, causing his lower region to twitch with excitement. “I’m all yours.” He whispered against her neck as he let the bathrobe fall freely to the ground. Isabel’s lips met his once again, not giving him time to worship her naked figure. She craved for his touch more than anything in the world. His long fingers moved behind her neck, pulling her closer to himself as he swirled his tongue around her mouth intoxicating her senses. She let her hands find its way to his now bare torso, loving the feeling of his toned abs against her fingers. She went lower and began fumbling with the button on his jeans. After several days when the pack was calm, Isabel named her cousin, Xavi, the new beta of the Pride pack. The title he rightfully deserved. He would be her right hand man and at the same time assist Dylan in training the warrior werewolves. Dylan had still insisted on being in charge of the warrior werewolves to keep him occupied and keep Fernando interested in participating in the training session which Isabel agreed to after much persuasion. She decided to take advantage of Dylan’s new position by joining in training the werewolves during her free time to stay closer to her mate. Majority of the warrior werewolves weren’t too excited about it, as Isabel’s presence made them train overtime. Dylan was concerned about their psychological well being and felt pity for them whenever his mate drilled them but he couldn’t complain because it gives him the opportunity to spend quality time with his mate and also makes them work together as a couple. Dylan ended the training session early that day because he received a voicemail from Isabel, asking him to come home. There was something off about her voice which got him worried. He doesn’t know why, but he thinks whatever she has to say was important and probably urgent since she didn’t wait for him to get back from training. There was an unsettling feeling in the pit of his stomach he was struggling to shake off, but it wouldn’t go away. Does this have something to do with Rodrigo’s sudden visit? Did he do something wrong? Was he softening towards the warriors to the annoyance of the former alpha? Of course not. He didn’t change the training patterns, neither did he cut the hours short. He only cracks one or two jokes with the warriors, to help ease their tension. All of these thoughts ran through Dylan’s mind as he drove back home. He parked his car in the driveway on arrival, not bothering to park it in the garage where it ought to be. ‘That can wait’ he thought to himself a

There was a large crowd in the house. There were pups, teenage werewolves, female werewolves and older werewolves present. The place was busy and chaotic until all eyes fell on Isabel. It was as if everyone turned into a statue the very moment Isabel stepped into the house. They all stared at her with bulged eyes and mouth agape like she just resurrected from the dead. Daniel had to clear his throat as a sign for them to come out of their dazed state. They bowed their heads to show their respect, but that didn’t stop them from still staring. “You can go about your business.” Isabel said in acknowledgement of their greeting, and like magic they immediately obeyed. Isabel was quite young compared to Dylan’s older brother, Daniel, but her presence commanded more respect than Daniel’s. “Why is there so much crowd in here?” Dylan curiously asked his brother because this was their dad’s personal house and not the pack house. “The pack isn’t safe anymore.
