(Rian’s P.O.V)
I couldn’t believe that Morrigan is the daughter of King Conri and Queen Amelie. I mean, I knew there was something about her aura that puzzled me. Her aura was stronger than mine, though she didn’t know that she could command me to do something with her Alpha tone and I would follow it. That’s something that no other Alpha can do to me as Supreme Alpha. I will have to talk with my parents about what this means for our kingdom, because this could be the start of bringing back the monarchy. Though first, we needed to put an end to the dark Fae and spellcaster problem that Eferhile is having. Alstin and Albrun walked us to the rooms we would be staying in while we wait for Prince Leland to get to the palace. I wasn’t expecting us to have to stay the night, so none of us had an overnight bag, though Alstin assured me that there were clothes for us in the rooms.
(Morrigan’s P.O.V) I was going to be meeting the rest of my elf family, and I wasn’t sure how I really felt about it. It was a lot to take in and I wish that Rian and I could have just stayed in our room until Prince Leland arrived, but that would have been rude. It’s odd to be royalty not just from one side of the family but from both sides. I really hope that Leland has the answers we need and want. We leave our room, Cormac following behind us, and make our way to the formal dining room since apparently there are so many members of my family joining us. “You nervous mo grá?” Rian asks. “Yeah, a bit. It’s just a lot and I really wish that we could have just locked ourselves in the room for the night.” I whisper. “I know baby, but we are here as guests, and it would have been rude to deny Alstin’s invitation to dinner.” I nod my head in acknowledgment as we descended the stairs, meeting a servant at the bottom who guided us to the formal dining room. Alsti
(Leland’s P.O.V) I could tell that this wasn’t going well at all, I couldn’t help myself when I smelled her: sweet peas, just like the day she was born. I know that she smells different to her mate but to her family and to everyone else she smells of sweet peas. I never thought I would get this chance because I knew I needed to stay away from her, and I needed everyone to continue to think she was dead. My cousin had many loyal followers, and many are still around today making sure that there are no more royals left to overthrow the system they have now. We had always been a fair monarchy, only stepping in when it was necessary because we believed in the autonomy of the individual packs. The only times we personally stepped in were for wars between packs and the mistreatment of mates or single female shifters. We thought the people were happy but those who are greedy
(Rian’s P.O.V) Well, Morrigan finally tapped into her spell caster magic, to the detriment of the tablecloth and some of the palace floor. We may not have been mated for long, but I have never seen her this pissed off. When Morrigan went outside I called Lysander and Winnie to come help with Morrigan, they were able to be teleported to Eglarest by King Alstin. Once they got to the palace, they took off outside just as Morrigan let out an ear-piercing scream. I started to run out the door when Cormac and Alstin grabbed me. “What are you doing!? Let me go! I need to help her!” I roar. “You can’t Rian! You need to let Lysander and Winnie calm her down. Lysander is the only one who knows how to get her spell caster magic under control!” Cormac yells back. “Think rationally Rian, she could unintentionally hurt you, and then what!? How will she feel when she comes down from this and finds yo
(Morrigan’s P.O.V) Well, this is bad. I think to myself. I had been floating in nothingness, inky black nothingness for what seemed like forever and my Goddess was I getting annoyed as fuck! I kept trying to feel around for Winter, but I couldn’t find her and it was beginning to feel like half of me was gone. Like there was a void inside my heart and she was the only thing that could fill it. The air around me began to shimmer and the nothingness I was floating in started to lighten and I soon found myself on what seemed like a bridge made of stars. Looking around me, I could see the planets and the heavens stretched for miles around me. It was truly a wondrous sight to behold. The stars twinkled around me like they were dancing amongst each other. “Well well well, look who decided to FINALLY show up,” I hear a voice behind me. I whirl around to see a woman with beautiful russet, reddish-brown skin, beautiful almond-shaped brown eyes, and beautiful raven bl
(Rian’s P.O.V) I didn’t hear Morrigan wake up from her fainting spell but when she commanded me to stop punching the daylights out of Leland, I felt the Royal command coming from her. Snapping out of my daze, I see on her forearm a tattoo of some kind that wasn't there before, and then she mentions something about a blessing from the Goddesses. Does she mean BOTH of the Goddesses? Like the Fae one and the Moon Goddess? I think that's exactly what she means Stark. Lysander asked what she meant by blessing, so thank the Goddess that one of us had our senses about us to ask the question. Morrigan goes on to explain her meeting with Selene and the Goddess Danu in the Celestial Realm and what the tattoo possibly meant. “So basically, they are giving you this sword because we are goi
(Morrigan’s P.O.V) I wake up the next morning, stretching into a hard chest while feeling a delicious soreness sparking across my body. Remembering the improvised play session that Rian and I had last night. I peek my head over to the bedside table to see that it’s now seven o’clock in the morning—ugh too fucking early. I extricate myself from Rian’s grip as slowly and as quietly as possible, not wanting to wake him up just yet, I need some privacy and alone time. Too much shit has happened without me having the proper amount of time to actually process everything. I hop into the huge shower with the water hot enough to boil my skin off. Bathing in hell fire, I see. Looks like we are ready to take on that dumbass uncle of ours. I couldn’t help the chuckle that escapes me from my wolf’s honesty.
(Morrigan’s P.O.V) After Rian and I had finished getting ready and packing up our things, we met Cormac in the hallway to head down to the car. The car ride was going to be interesting with Albrun coming with us as well as Leland and his mate. Winnie and Lysander left early this morning thanks to King Alstin teleporting them back to Khisfire so that they could pack and get a car. They were going to be meeting us in Màni in a few hours. “We’ll miss you Morrigan, and you too Rian.” Queen Aubriana says, hugging both Rian and me. “We’ll miss you too Aubriana, and you as well Alstin,” I state, moving on to hug Alstin. “We will come and visit soon, I promise cousin. Now that we know you are alive and well, we have a lot of catching up to do and I have a lot of stories of your mother to share with you.” Alstin states, his eyes misty with tears. He missed my mother tremendously, and they were very close to one another during their lives together. I hugged the rest
(Rian’s P.O.V) I couldn’t help the outburst of laughter when Albrun told Morrigan she had snatched Leland’s voice from him. She looked like a deer in headlights—wide-eyed in shock, her mouth dropping open. “No worries baby, I like him like this so please, by all means, keep his voice.” I chuckle. Hey, I wasn’t lying, I couldn’t stand the fucker. Leland glares at me and his mate does the same, I shrug my shoulders with a slight chuckle. “How did I do that!? And how do I undo it!?” Morrigan shrieks out, obviously freaked out at what she was able to do. “Remember what we told you about elf magic? It’s driven by our intent and desires. Spell caster magic is driven by emotion. So, you were obviously intent upon shutting your uncle up.” Albrun laughs again. “Okay, but that still doesn’t answer the second quest
