Chapter 38 Nothing More to Do with These People

Mrs. Jones held Joyce's hand and walked her to the path in the backyard.

Feeling much relieved, Joyce said mildly, "If that's the case, then I don't have to worry so much."

Mrs. Jones smiled and looked at her while telling her of her scheme. "Ms. Joyce, you really don't have to worry. If Jean gets pregnant, then wouldn't she be paving the way for you?"

Joyce fell silent. These days, a doctor came frequently to check on her health. She only had one problem. Her uterus had been damaged from the car accident, and she would never be able to conceive.

Actually, her fertility did not affect her much. She had hated kids since she was young. She hadn't been much affected when she found out that she could not bear children.
