Beau was surprised he could put one foot in front of the other, much less form a halfway coherent thought. He was glad his agent, Dan Leventhal, had his fingers clamped firmly around Beau's elbow, guiding him. At six thirty Sarah closed the folder on her desk, shut down her computer and sent her phone to voice mail. Time to get ready. One of the perks that came with her suite of offices as In House Counsel was a fully outfitted private bathroom. She wished she'd thought to bring a change of clothing with her today, then mentally smacked herself in the head. Slow down, she told herself. She didn't need to shower and change from the inside out. This wasn't a date. It was a drink. That was it. Nothing else. Now that she was here, now that he had touched her again, she suddenly wasn't sure that this was such a good idea. He was older, and the maturity looked good on him. The lines around his eyes were deeper, probably from squinting into the sun, and his face had a leaner, harder look. His hair was the same streaky blonde, just a little longer now, curling at his collar. And his eyes were the same melted chocolate color, deep pools that it would be so easy to get lost in. She had to admit he looked way too appealing in his red silk sport shirt and his dark brown slacks. Holy god, he was still Mr. Hot Stuff. And more.But worse than that, the same sizzle of electricity that had seared them that night in New Orleans apparently hadn't diminished over time. The gated community Beau lived in was about half an hour from the Rough Riders headquarters, and fortunately against the wave of traffic. She gave her name to the guard on duty who waved her through the gates. At the house she punched in the gate code Beau had given her, waited while the ironwork gates slid smoothly open and drove on up the curving drive and parked at the steps to the front door. She climbed out of the car and took her first good look at Beau Perini's residence.The architecture was slightly Mediterranean, as were a lot of the buildings in Florida.
