LUKE POV

By the time we left the coffee shop, it felt like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

I felt lighter, greeter than I was.

But what actually made me want to laugh out loud was the satisfaction at the thought of Kenya being less mad at me. I didn’t know if I should be laughing or slapping mysylef in the face for actually feeling whatever it was I was feeling for the little vixen.

But watching her settled in the passenger’s seat with that small smile on her face as she watched the passing scenery… I somehow felt content, like there was a gaping hole that’s been filled inside of me.

We drove the remaining distance in comfortable silence, with me occasionally stealing glances at her. The entire time I kept telling myself that all was good; now that she was less mad at me.

We arrived at my condo when the sun was about to set, and I guided her through, with my hand resting at her lower back. We entered inside the house, and decency threatened to leave through
