Chapter 34: So Close Yet, So Far

Latina was speechless, not sure of what to say, she drifted her eyes elsewhere.

“Wait, you just said that this Marco kid died eight years ago and never left your village even once. Are you sure that Latina came and drank his blood while he was still kicking?” Azrene asked, confused.

“Tsk, honestly we need to leave as soon as possible.”

“You’re avoiding the question now!” Latina unconsciously covered her hand on Azrene’s mouth. Wrapping her arm around Azrene’s waist, she lifted her without getting rid of her hand on the girl’s lips. She gave a signal to the boy to lead the way.

“Stop struggling,” Latina whispered to Azrene’s ears. The latter nodded her head. “Let me carry you until we reach the village. It’s safer to leave fewer traces.”
