Chapter 25

Alessia's POV

I felt my throat dry so I drank water from a container made of animal skin. I'm not sweating because the wind is strong, but I can't deny the heat brought by the climate.

I feel like I want to go home because of the heat. I'm patient, but the Waldorf is too hot. I don't even see a tree here that you can rest on, it's just endless sand and you don't know where it ends.

"Sweetheart, wear my cape, you're burning," Elijah promised me. He must have noticed that my skin is a little red because of the heat of the sun.

I quickly shook my head. "It hurts the skin, but it's not fatal," I replied to him. But I'm more afraid that I might get skin cancer because of too much exposure to the sun. Too much exposure can cause heat stroke or worst, skin cancer.

We've been traveling for a few hours and it's going fast. The road is winding, everything is dry and the heat is sweltering. I looked to the left side and saw something there that caught my attention.
