"I'm sorry if my performance disappointed you," Deric said.

Caraline took a few steps away from Helen, turning around and shaking her hair. Her hands reflexively folded in front of her chest, glaring at Deric in exasperation. "You still look as bad as ever."

"Really?" Deric scanned his appearance several times. "So what should I look like to look good in your eyes?"

"Stop talking nonsense. Ugliness is the other side of you." Caraline tucked a lock of hair behind her ear. "Expensive clothes don't necessarily change a person."

"Helen," Deric called as he approached.

"Yes." Helen still had her back to Deric.

Caraline quickly blocked Deric's path with her arms crossed at her sides. To be honest, she didn't want him to see Helen's current appearance.
