Veronica blinked her eyes for a moment. When her consciousness fully gathered, she turned to the side and didn't find Darwin lying beside her.

For a moment, Veronica fell silent. With a furrowed brow, shortly after, she remembered Darwin's question from the previous night when he had left the room. Veronica thought maybe her husband had spent some time resting in the office and hadn't returned.

Glancing briefly at the digital clock on the nightstand, it showed that it was only six in the morning. Veronica quickly got up to head to the bathroom. After finishing her morning routine and applying minimal makeup, Veronica hurriedly made her way to the dining room. She thought this might be her chance to see her husband.

However, Veronica's hope faded. Upon entering the dining room, once again, she didn't find Darwin there. Perhaps he had an early work schedule or was intentionally avoiding her.
